Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This station is quite empty, nice and clean. It’s not Grand Central in New York for sure. If you are around, stop by and take a look, snap a couple of pictures but if it’s out of your way, don’t bother.

Estacio de Franca is one of the major train stations in Barcelona and quite possibly the most beautiful. Built in a mix of Neo-Classical, Modernist and Art Deco style. The facade of exceptionally beautiful floral motifs and long straight grills over the windows. The station interiors is also very much Art Deco and Modernist with a feel of order in sharip contrast to the sprawl that is Barcelona Sants.

I did get my tickets from Barcelona Sants to Madrid from here and the service is so so. There's not enough people manning the ticket offices and the service is slow, although friendly once you get to the head of the queue.

If you are catching train from metro, the stations are far apart. With luggage, it will be a difficult transfer.

Watch out, this train station has no metro station inside. Need to walk some blocks to Barceloneta metro station. Not far, but iof you are packed, doesn't help much.

On our way from Cuitadella park back into the city we walked past the train station. The entrance hall is beautiful, lovely high ornate ceilings, fab architectural details. Take a look if you can.

My wife and I recently visited Barcelona on the first leg of our two week trip to Spain, Andorra, and France. On one of the days in Barcelona we took the Metro down to the port area and walked around for hours taking in the sights.

Since I am a "Railfan", we just had to visit the Estacio De Franca Train Station. It is a huge station with a long curved train shed, numerous platforms, and beautiful architecture......i walked out on the number 4 & 5 platforms to take some great photos of the Renfe trains waiting to leave....

This in one excellent station worth visiting and photographing...Especially if you are a "Railfan" like me.....

In Short we flew to Barcelona and our final destination was Cambrills. A lot of people on here talk about Reus Airport. For us that wasn't an option so the easiest way we found as a family with children was to get a direct train from this wonderful station to Salou. Purchase your tickets from the ticket office and 1hour later you've arrived in Salou, nice and easy. Reason why i say this is because this station is where all the mainline trains Start and Finish.
Another tip, if you are already in Barcelona apart from a cab the nearest metro station we found was Barcelonetta.
Hope this helps

This easy to be missed attraction is definitely worth a quick visit - gigantic halls and the main station remind of the XIX century and the best times of rail.

It used to connect Spain and France by rail, is still in operation by the Spanish rail

Defo worth the time at least for a quick look while visiting Barcelonera or the nearby Parc De la Ciutadella

This is a beautiful station and a way to avoid the pick pockets at Sants. Its the end of the line so you either board or leave a train in a dignified fashion. No hustle or bustle....pretty refined. You can go Renfe to your destination. This station is by the coast of Barcelona and by the beautiful park ciudadela. Its on P. Colon. Walkable if fit from La Ramblas.
I avoid Sants like the plague and get a bus to placa de Catalunya from the airport then a taxi here or bus or walk. Makes life so much more serene to be honest. Trains go from here to many places in Spain.....look online for your destination.
