Great place for history buffs or just jews trying to learn local culture. However, 4 stars because you cannot come in without paying, somewhat unsettling.

Walking around the Call, understanding the Jewish roots in the economy of a thriving 10th century Barcelona is important in understanding the place of a strong Israel for Judiasm, Zionism.

The shul is small, but on a walking tour of the old quarter it is worth the stop. 10minute presentation with the more "recent" history of the shul and some amazing artifacts. Such rich history.

The synagogue is in ruins and below the street level but is well worth seeing because of the presentation provided. It is small but has a huge history. And it’s nice to support the community in recoveri g this treasure.

Unfortunately the synagogue was closed when we arrived on Sunday at about 4pm. By luck we went around the building and found a small museum. Watched a short film for about 5 mins which was interesting. There used to be 6 synagogues in Barcelona. The...More
