A beautiful square , home to some magnificent buildings and giving you a great view of the magic fountain. Definitely worth a trip up the lift of the old converted bull ring - the views are spectacular

This Placa is stunning to visit, plenty to see and visit when walking in and around this placa. The national arts museum and magic fountain right there, as well as the old bull ring now turned into a shopping centre with great viewing platform on the roof

It's easy to access by subway. About 5 mins walk from the station. Water fountain show was impressive but not so amazing. Visit here if you have extra time.

Had a good day here, apart from an incident with parrot droppings. The replica village was interesting and the old was good. Some of craft shops were quite expensive.

Plaça d'Espanya is one of the most important squares in Barcelona and there you have got an amazing view of some very nice sights for example the "Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya", the magic fountain of Montjuic, "Las Arenas de Barcelona" (which was a bullring and now a big shopping centre), Venezian Towers, ... BUT you have to be so... More

Enjoyed a walk from the metro, up the road, then up the hill to the wonderful art gallery, which was housed in the stunning building. Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
