I visited the shop based on recommendation from a local friend. I bought pralines of all sorts. It is a real disappointment considering the fame. The recipe probably has not been renewed at all over many years, and the pralines radiate an old-time flavor in your mouth. It's hard to describe, but if you are used to the taste of... More

To be honest I was expecting bigger things from this shop, and was initially disappointed when I walked in a saw how small it is. But upon looking around I saw all the wonderful chocolate craft, which really made me marvel. It's so nice to see such an old institution still going strong! Here's a tip: buy the Catanies, which... The best thing about this shop is that time-honored ambiance you get when you walk into the shop. I love establishments that is able to withstand the test of time, especially restaurants. It means that their food is constant and never changing, and people still comes back to. Like home. The minute you walk in, the smell is rich of... More

I loved this chocolate shop. It is beautiful and smells decadent when you walk inside! The staff doesn't speak English but they were very patient and helpful and shared several taste samples with me so that I could decide what I wanted. They packaged a beautiful box of a variety of chocolates I gave to my Mom. I am not... More

This place was recommended by a chef we visited in Barcelona and thankful for the recommendation. The chocolates we got were amazing! I would definitely recommend to stop in here for chocolates or sweets as it has been around a long time and you can see why! They do not speak very good English if any at all, so easier... More

A delicious step back in time. Traditional Barcelona high-end chocolate shop. Stop off on your way to Santa Maria del Pi. Let the kids go crazy and sample. Friendly staff.

I happened to try these chocolates as l was leaving Barcelona, bought at their shop in the airport, and vowed to have them again while in the city, on my next trip. And so I have. The shop is quaint, pretty . The not-ideal customer service is not a reason to like or dislike/ it's the chocolates that matter. Remarkable. The... More

I have been going to this shop for some years now, always to buy their catanies (praline covered almonds dusted in cocoa powder) and assorted chocolates. Quality is superior, and the ambience offered by the shop, very traditional, dignified and authentic, can only add to the experience. This is a must if you are in Barcelona's city centre and want...
