A central beach that's easy to get to and lots of golden sand. Was very busy but lots to do - get an ice cream, go through the markets etc

I didnt know how beautiful the beach and harbour area is and it was a lovely suprise. We found a nice restaurant for something to eat and enjoyed a walk looking at the mega yachts!

The Mediterranean is just beautiful. We were there in September, so the beach wasn't terribly crowded. The Barceloneta is a walk/bike/skate path that extends from the main port where the cruise ships are to a small marina at the other end. We didn't walk the...More

Now this is an average beach in a beautiful city. Certainly by San Sebastian or Australian beach standards. Still, who would visit Barcelona for the beaches?

It is nice to see a busy beach right by the city. The boardwalk is great to walk in the evenings and for a run in the mornings. It is a very busy and active place.

The beach is not overly crowded and the water is very refreshing. There are many restaurants and cafes along the water. Beach volleyball is popular here. Large Marina to wander through.

Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area
can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging
over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each
other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing
games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away,
Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line
the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed
sand structures making this the most visited beach in

We did not see any parasailing on the beach where we walked. Maybe further away from town center?
