Address
Neighbourhood: Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.

A mental little tardis

Visited in April 2018 for the first time. As a group of six guys we where surprisingly welcomed by the bouncers. But our heads fell off with their hushhing gestures until we got informed it was a residential area😁. The soundproof door is great. At first I wasn't impressed with the set up, then as more people arrived, the place seemed to grow! Haha. It turned out to be one one of... If not the best club nights of my life. And I've partied profusely around the whole of Europe and more. It all most felt like a simulation it was so perfect. The people, the sound, the space and even that ladder/staircase to the toilets 😂. Excellent time. Hope to be back there one day soon 🤞

Pésimo, worst place to go out
Feb. 2020

Just entering you have two homofobic gangsters, then you meet the administrator (seems to be) with a very basic background that enforces the first image, probably argentinian. It's a shame for an open an cosmopolitan city, avoid this place at any cost, there much more friendly places to enjoy,

Small but great music
Dec. 2018 • Couples
The place is in Gothic area , 5 mins from Plaça de Catalunya. Paid Parking is around the corner. Don’t expect anything close to glamorous clubs on Barcelonetta, Macarena is small and very very basic. It has a small dance floor and bar. The wardrobe and toilets are on the second floor. We went there twice in our 4 day visit to Barcelona in mid December . What makes the club exceptional and appealing is the music . They mostly play techno , rave and underground. The dj were young and unspoiled like many big djs who became too commercial.

During our visit there were between 10-15 people on dance floor. It felt very safe too.

You come here to dance the night away to the great music. Period .

Highly recommended.

Best club I've been in for years!
Apr. 2018 • Couples
What an amazing place! I can't wait to go back. Some work colleagues took me to a cheesy RnB club that was massively overcrowded and playing dreadful music. My girlfriend and I had to leave it was so bad, and then Googling 'House Music Club Barcelona' took us to the Macarena.
Brilliant music played over a great sound system, in an intimate setting with the crowd all grooving, hands high, around the DJ booth. We danced till close and loved every track the DJ played.
Reading the comments on TA, it's clear this club isn't for everyone and I suspect some of those that didn't like it probably would have preferred the RnB club we started the night in.
But if you like deep 'n dirty house and tech house surrounded by chilled people who are clearly there for the music, then this is your place. I'm a DJ myself who's been clubbing for 30 years now and if house, tech house and techno are your bag, do not leave Barcelona without visiting the Macarena. It is just like Sankeys was in the 90's..

Worst club I've been in Barcelona
Apr. 2018 • Friends
You can wait for long, even in front of the entrance, because they will ALWAYS prefer locals. When you finallly get there, you'll be disapointed. What a shame.
Barcelona is a wonderful place, donner waste 10euros there.

Dirty, Gritty; House & Techno
Apr. 2018 • Couples
If you enjoy your house and techno with a fun atmosphere, this is the place for you in Barcelona.

Dark and gritty atmosphere which gives some resemblance of Sankey’s Manchester. The high quality sound system fills the living-room sized dance floor with some filthy tech house beats while the small crowd has arms in the air.

Great place if you come for the right reasons. Don’t come here for your standard chart music, you will be disappointed.

Avoid it, there are much better clubs around
Aug. 2017 • Friends
It is a very small club and overpriced. They charge 10 euros for the entrance and this without drinks. Cocktails costs 12 Euros.
There are much better clubs in Barcelona.
