Park Guell is one of the masterpieces of the catalan architect Antoni Gaudi, who projected it in 1900. Inaugurated as a public park in 1926, it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, reconizing its patrimonial and cultural value as a symbol of modern architecture, being one of the biggest exponents of Gaudi's modernism. This playful urban park, the work of architect Antoni Gaudi, features peaceful greens, winding paths and many sculptures and mosaics designed by Gaudi himself.

We recommend the following options for ensuring that you arrive on time at the Park Guell Monument Precinct:

- Metro (green line, get off at Lesseps or Vallcarca). When you leave the station, you’ll have a walk of about 20-25 minutes.

- City bus (lines H6 and 32). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 15 minutes.

- City bus (lines 92 and 24). When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 5 minutes.

- Barcelona City Tour and Bus Turistic. When you get off the bus, you’ll have a walk of about 10 minutes.

- Taxi to Park Guell (Carretera del Carmel or Calle de Marianao)

We spent our last morning here. I did not realize that the park was a timed entrance facility, and unfortunately we did not time it right. However, there is a large free area that allows you to walk (hike) up to the look out point. It was a wonderful view of Barcelona. Before leaving we entered Gaudi's house as it... More

Just very few mosaic bits to see...most of the park is in the incomplete state. Dragon fountain is worth a view but these days is so much surrounded by the tourists for photos/selfies that it's hard to get a peaceful look at the creation! I expected more mosaic work in the park but had to search hard to find any,... More

The park has a great view of the city and the monuments are amazing, but I had the feeling that it's not being very taken care. But still amazing.

So many beautiful views of Barcelona. A little further from the water so plan ahead for transportation. The park is stunning and get the audio guide!

Visited this Gaudi masterpiece during recent trip to Barcelona. Slightly off the main city, this was conceived to be a ultra luxury cluster of villas for the rich city guys, but was not a commercial success and hence remained unfinished. The house in which Gaudi himself lived is also within the area. Some striking architecture- the facade looking like a... More
