If you love architecture this is an absolute must. As a former hospital it has some amazing stories to tell, and it's scale is something to behold. Similar in style to the Palau de la Musica, and designed by the same architect, the site was only opened in 2014, and it is still less well known. There is a surprise... More

The Sant Pau Recinte Modernista is a former hospital, located only a 10 minute walk from the Sagrada Familia. The buildings were cleverly designed and are highly decorated in the Art Deco style. Apparently a tour is available in the morning. However, there are enough signs and videos on display to give one a pretty good sense of how the... More

While not in the top 10 on the sightseeing map, that place was a great doscovery for me and my partner. Sagrada and other places are nothing compared to that in my oppinion. Great place to catch a breath and simply enjoy extremely beautifoul architecture. Breathtaking and extraordinary. Remember to visit all the buildings on the map given at the... More

One of Barcelona's under-rated gems. This is a beautiful complex/facility with an amazing history. I go here each time I'm in Barcelona.

Sant Pau hospital can be easily combined with a visit to Sagrada Familia, which is a few minutes walk away. The site is a masterpiece of dazzling Art Nouveau architecture, which was designated a World Heritage Site in 1997. Built between 1902 and 1930 it is a classic of Catalan Modernisme. The hospital was closed in 2009 and after refurbishment... More

It's only been open to tourists for about a year and it's a nice building to wonder around if you are in the neighbourhood. A bit pricey to get in but there is quite a lot to see a very little queing.

What can I say? This is stunning, it was not that busy so many chances to sit down, relax and enjoy the beautiful architecture. Hard to believe that this only closed as a hospital around 10 years ago. There are only a few interiors to see at the moment but that may change as the place develops.

It's just amazing that so much effort was put into building a hospital which is not just functional but also beautiful. Even the trauma room was beautiful. The grounds with the various buildings is definitely worth viewing - and would have been truly therapeutic for the patients. The surgery room must be the only one in the world with so... More

Pleasant walk from Sagrada Familia and not crowded. Just being discovered. Is not in all the guide books. Go! Wonderful architecture, beautiful spacious grounds, interesting history! This is site is catching on by word of mouth, and they are prepared for an increased number of tourists. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.

A short walk from the crowds of Sagrada Família and well worth a visit! An art nouveau site that was a hospital into the first part of the 1900s. It;s a World Heritage site by Unesco. It was built to be a city within a city... There are ceramics, gardens, sculptures, and of course the buildings. The staff was very... More
