This Moorish accented gate was the main access to the old town and was heavily fortified. There is a monument to Charles V, who completed its construction although it was in operation before his time. Rare opportunity to immerse by ourself in the past.

We just happened upon this city gate on our way to an open air market in the park just outside. Loved the historical significance and the statue of Carlos V

One of the remaining ancient gates into the city of Toledo. It is of Moorish origin and was completed during the medieval period. An imposing and impressive structure. It stands like a sentinel guarding the city within.

You would pass through this gate into the city. It is close to the hotel that I have previously reviewed. Definitely a piece of history.

In a city of main gates, Bisagra or Bab Al Shagra is the main one. Imposing and Majestic it is probably the one most out of the way from the centre of the old city

The City of Toledo has a grand entrance that falls between a gate or a tower befitting of the first Capital City of Spain Well placed as you come closer to the Hill on which the old city rests.

The gates toward the bridge invite yiu into the heart of Toledo. Once inside it's best to just get lost in the grandeur and splendour in this little spot of preserved history yet sufficiently modern. I enjoyed every moment of exploring this city and going to all the attractions. The eagles on this port will be forever pressed in my... More

The gate is one of the primary entrances into Toledo. Something out of a Walt Disney film.If you are travelling by car and looking for a reliable Car Park then I suggest the underground parking at El Mirador (off Calle Gerardo Lobo). From here you can access all the main Toledo attractions.
