Impressive City Steeped in History

A really fabulous city for those who love old spain and history. The city is walled and the architecture is stunning.

This beautiful Moorish building near the Cathedfal, was host to a public assembly the day of our visit. I could only pick up a little of the speech making, something about everyone pulling together. There was a smattering of polite applause, but I would guess no follow through. The building houses the Tourist Info office, which is a good thing,... More

When we arrived in Toledo, which is surrounded by Tagus River and a UNESCO World Heritage site, we went on to various the escalators to arrive in the centre of Toledo. We first approached Zocodover Square and continued through the many narrow and lovely streets loaded with souvenir shops, cafes and tapas restaurants to the Cathedral which is one of... More

Ayuntamiento de Toledo is one of Toledo's nice buildings effected by Moorish style. There is a tourist information office inside. This city is on a hill with a beautiful river around, full of narrow streets and medieval history. I recommend to see this charming town and most attractions to all visitors.

Lovely old town on a hill.r Streets are narrow and best to ditch the car and walk or get the tourist train. Will not hesitate to return spent two days but could happily stay longer

This borders one end of the square, adjacent to the cathedral. The verdigris copper water sculpture that fills and mostly drains is moodily attractive. The Ayuntamiento houses the tourist information office. I went there a couple of times for advice and information and both times all staff members were very helpful and friendly.

Situated at the focal point of Toledo, opposite la Cathedral, the Ayuntamiento of Toledo is a beautiful twin towered medieval building that dates back to the late 16th century. There is a tourist information center in the basement of the town hall. This building shows a style of Moorish influenced architecture in Spanish Medieval buildings.

The plaza in front of the Toledo Cathedral is known by this name. It was considered to be the central plaza during the medieval period although this 'central plaza' has now been replaced by Plaza de Zocodover. Important buildings surround this plaza. On one side there is the Catedral Primada of Toledo, on the other sides there is the City... More
