Puerto Chico (Little Harbor) is the very core of Santander, from earlier times when it was the home of the city's fishing fleet. Pleasure craft moor here today and it offers splendid views of the bay and access to the Palacio de Festivales de Cantabria.

Walk (not drive) to Puerto Chico as the walk along the seafront is rather nice. The marina is has no longer any historical 'old' feel to it. That is a shame as the history is interesting.

Puertochico was Santander's fishermen's port over 100 years ago, and before that even commercial vessels docked there. Nowadays, Puertochico is a marina for pleasure craft. There is a breakwater on the South side, where one can go for a walk or fishing. Both in the nearby areas of Castelar and Paseo de Pereda one can see old buildings going as... More

This is a nice, wide, sidewalk by the marina. There are some interesting statues and some benches to sit. Plenty of boats to look at coming and going from the marina and the bay.

You can spend a lovely couple of hours here just watching the yachts and boats potter about. There are some great seats to relax on and in the sunshine it is a good place to be. It is a short walk back into the town.

Puerto Chico is a great place to stroll around and relax in Santander. Plan to budget around an hour here and be sure to include some of the other attractions adjacent if you have time (such as the park, etc). Essentially Puerto Chico is a marina so you will likely get many nice photos on a great day (afternoon would... More

There's not too much to do here, but Puerto Chico makes for a good landmark when exploring Santander. It's home to the largest Spanish flag I've ever seen.

When we last visited the far end of the old port area a couple of years ago this was a derelict area full of rusty boats and machinery. Now the whole area has been transformed into a classy urban park which provides beautiful views across the bay. What has also been revealed is a large old dry dock. There is... More

If you love the seam and you are a water fan, then you can spend some time at this particular point. A nice yacht port directly facing beaches.
