This is a lovely beach, quiet and easily accessed. There are sun loungers and parasols available at 2.5 euros each.....very good value, but also plenty of space to use your own. There are a couple of bars at the back of the beach which are...More

This picturesque village is a must-see for urban eplorers staying at Tenerife. The village consists of two parts, both of wich offering some abandoned areas. The northern part is the former leper colony, built in monumental style typical for the Franco-era. The middle part, next...More

Abades is an unassuming little town on the east coast just off the TF1. Once a leper colony, the old buildings stand on the hill above the town. The town centre is small and right by the sea - a few restaurants, a couple of...More

Abades is a quiet little place with two small beaches (one claimed by nudists) and basic amenities: two shops, a handful of bars/restaurants. Good for very low-key beach holidays with little walks. Abades obviously had some plans for development - mostly abandonded though as the...More

This is a lovely little spot with convenient parking to explore the intriguing unfinished 'ghost village with its own church. The original plan was to create a village as a leper colony, but advances in treatments meant it was never used. Well worth leaving the...More

The village can be seen from the TF1 autopista, we first spotted it in the early 1980's, at that time it only had a track down to it from the newly (at that time ) constructed autopista. It is a residential and a tourist village,...More
