The little fort built to defend the town from pirates in 17th century is a nice landmark of Puerto de la Cruz. We did not go inside, but walking around, enjoying the views of historical walls and remembering childhood reads of pirate stories was lovely. And there is also a very unusual stone garden by the fortress. Great for pics.

Siyuated right on the seafront and on the main walkway right along the beach into town you can imagine it guarding the town in the old days. Replica cannon out front, it is kept immaculately clean. Behind it on the rocks are cairns of stones built by passerbys. You can walk down to the pier and enjoy the waves crashing... More

Just a small square 'fort' built of the local volcanic rock. No opening times displayed so assuming it was shut for the winter/permanently? One cannonball and it would have fallen down LOL

We walked past this place twice every day for a week, but never found it open! There are a couple of cannon outside, but that's about it.

When we went the castle was closed but you can walk around and it is really quite cute for a castle. But if you look along the dock you will see hand painted large rocks with every famous face you can imagine on them. Must of spent an hour looking at all the different ones they had. I personally loved... More

This small castle is in a good spot near Playa Jardin, so if you get bored of the beach between 10am - 1pm on certain days then it is good to have a wander around the castle, where it is cool and quiet. All of the small rooms were very plain - laminate flooring and plain white walls with the... More

This is only open as an arts venue for a few hours each day. When we went it was empty, you get a better idea of the building by walking round the outside. Easy to get to as it next to the beach.
