Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

During our recent trip to Purto de la Cruz, we came across this beautiful Church. When we entered, we saw some religious prayer was going on in the front of Mother Mary statue. We sat behind quietly for 15 minutes. The entire ambience was very peaceful with positive vibration.

The main church, "Iglesia de la Pena de Francia", is located on the "Plaza de la Iglesia", the park-like church square.
Sitting under shady trees, you can watch the people strolling by in peace.
The church was built in the 17th century, and the bell tower was only added in the 19th century. Inside there are pictures by the island's most famous painters from the 17th and 18th centuries.
The church has been a listed building for several years.

This beautiful ornate church is in a lovely quiet square in the oldest part of the town. When we were there, on a Saturday, a big society wedding was about to take place – ordinary visitors were welcome to sit at the righthand aisle and watch the literally hundreds of guests assembling in all their finery, for example the bride’s mother wearing a traditional mantilla. A violinist and pianist played. We waited until the bride was taken down the aisle by her father and left, a beautiful and uplifting sight.
Puerto de la Cruz is altogether lovely and we plan to come back, this time seeing the church interior properly as it is quite a sight.

Visited this most famous Chapel on Sunday morning in Puerto de La Cruz. It knocked our socks off. No wonder it’s rated as number six of 65 things to do in the town. Built in 1697, you can sense centuries of history. Stunning architecture, ornate altars, rich wood and spectacular marble. Don’t miss it!

We were welcomed to 10 am Mass in English on Palm Sunday by a few helpful and friendly local residents and ex pats. There were Mass sheets available in English and plenty of information in English on the events scheduled for Santa Semana ( Holy Week). The processions were moving and spectacular with icons paraded around the town and worshippers in traditional dress.
The interior of the church is quite amazing and the little square outside is a lovely place to sit, chat and look at Mt Teide.

Nestling in between shops and a short walk from the sea front this old church is spectacular inside. There was a brass band playing when we wandered in and the sound was lovely.

My hotel was just opposite the church and square. The whole area is full of character. I attended a baroque concert in the church one evening which was lovely.

Worth a look in, a good retreat from outside bustle, spent a good time outside in the relaxing gardens.
