There are a lot of excursion trips on Tenerife by private companies. We decided to use the local bus service(Titsa) which is great. The bus drivers are no different to those in the UK don't expect them to be excited about you being on holiday!...More

There were four of us: my wife, my 7- and 10-year old daughters and me. We were doing it on our own - rented a car and moved to the Teide National Park. If you don't want to stuck in their long queues to park...More

Had a leisurely drive thru the park, and stopped off at various places for photos. Scenery changes drasticlly, from rocks to woodland. Roads were pretty quiet considering its a major tourist attraction. Great few hours out

Of course the whole park is fantastic which is why on our 10 th visit to Tenerife we were very disappointed to discover severe restrictions to a huge area around the base of Teide. Apparently these restrictions apply for a month in Autumn and a...More

This is, besides the visit to the top of the mountain, a must. If you drive your own car you will anyways cross the entire park. Just go well in advance and enjoy the amazing volcanic landscape!

Weather - basically, when at shore it is cloudy, just go up on the teide, the chances are that at 2000 m you will be above clouds and it will be sun. That was the case on my trip. Bring warm clouds just in case....More
