Located 400 metres high, on the Risco de Famara, the Mirador del Río is one of César Manrique's most representative architectural creations as it shows a series of artistic and architectural details and his eagerness to combine art and nature. It is located near the remains of an ancient military base that dates back to the end of the 19th Century. It is camouflaged on the rock in a way in which only a genius of Manrique's magnitude could conceive.

This attraction was part of a number of sites we visited on the Cesar Manrique tour. My least favourite of the sites but without doubt beautiful, stunning views and worth a visit. Be aware however we were advised by our guide that if the weather is not good you may not see very much so if you plan to do... More

If anywhere has the "wow" factor then this is it!!! The view from the high cliffs across to the islands is breathtaking. You see a group of small islands set in an azure sea and with the beautiful blue sky with banks of fluffy white clouds overhead, you are bowled over with the beauty of it all. The cliffs themselves... More

Not sure it was worth the entrance fee of 4:50 euros. Structure was brilliant but views available from outside the building

Fabulous viewpoint located at the northern tip of Lanzarote. We knew nothing about the islands hero César Manrique on arrival but evidence of his art work and creative ability abound. It costs € 4.50 per adult to enter and it certainly worth it. The aspect & views over La Graciosa will take your breath away!

This viewpoint is at the north end of Lanzarote and afford magnificent views of the edge of the island as well as the two smaller islands of Lanzarote. If the weather is clear, that is.

It's a little bit of a treck to get here but worth the trip. We've done this a couple of times now and prefer to head up from the central road through La Geria region and on through Tequise. There's some cracking scenic views along this route. Parking is abundant at Mirador del Rio, but unless you can find a... More

It's worth forking out the few euros it takes to access the interior of this fascinating building, if only to admire the architecture and enjoy the excellent sandwiches. If you are too tight for that it's still worth a visit, as the views can still be enjoyed from the footpath.

We were touring the north of the island by car and hadn't actually planned to visit Mirador del Rio. However I'm glad that we paid 4.5 euros to enter. The views of the channel between Lanzarote and La Graciosa from the panoramic windows and the platforms are absolutely stunning Also enjoyed a coffee and cake in the snack bar. Well... More

This Mirador is beautifully designed with large panorama windows and viewing platforms - all tastefully and sensitively done. The view from here is spectacular overlooking the channel that runs between the two islands of Lanzarote and Graciosa. You can have a snack here while watching the ferry going back and forth between the islands. The architecture alone of the place... More
