Located 400 metres high, on the Risco de Famara, the Mirador del Río is one of César Manrique's most representative architectural creations as it shows a series of artistic and architectural details and his eagerness to combine art and nature. It is located near the remains of an ancient military base that dates back to the end of the 19th Century. It is camouflaged on the rock in a way in which only a genius of Manrique's magnitude could conceive.

one of the must see attraction of the island. amazing view!!! there are no words to explain. even the road up to the top of the hill is unforgetable, and give a very good overview of the so many different faces of the island.

You have the best view of the island at Mirador del Rio. You can see la Graciosa and on the other side the rest of Lanzarote.

With wife and 5 and a half year old daughter - a good excursion for a couple of hours. We bought a pass for this and 3 other attractions on the island so the visit was discounted. The building and its position are impressive but wouldn't have wanted to have paid full price.

We had heard a lot about the Cesar Manrique created viewing platform at Mirador del Rio and decided to make the exploration. Having driven north from PDC up through the mountains towards Haria, we eventually picked up the direction signs for this attraction. This was built in 1974 and at 475m / 1560 feet provides a wonderful view northwards towards... More

Apart from the top viewing platform, buggy access is fine and the views are great! Imagine the view is even better on a clear day!

Worth a detour if you're in the area. Excellent view from the north of the island. Interesting location cut into the volcano side, very typical Manrique. Cafe and toilets available

We came here as part of our tour of the north of the island. We were not really sure what to expect but entered another Cesar Manrique inspired building built into the natural rock with some wonderful views across the island of La Graciosa, firstly behind the windows of the restaurant, but then you can go outside on two levels... If you choose to hike Camino de los Gracioseros, Mirador del Rio is not worth to visit and pay 4.5eur. View from the Camino is free and almost the same. And it includes very nice 1 hour hike to big and empty beach Playa del Risco. We firstly hiked and than went to Mirador del Rio and were really disappointed.... More

We visited here today after lunch in Orzola and were not disappointed. We have visited twice in the past but both times we were unable to see the view due to poor weather conditions. Today it was clear and the views across to the island were amazing. Only one minor niggle - it cost €4.50 to get in but there... More
