    Nice
For a city beach this ticks all the boxes, sea, sand, & a 40 minute stroll end to end with endless bars & restaurants. So much choice of places to eat & drink. Makes the city a little more welcoming.

    Low key and relaxing beach
The beach on the west side of Las Palmas is great and relaxing. You can rent beds and umbrellas or bring your own. Our favourite is to rent beds at tent number six: The guy there uses fewer beds, so that it’s not as cramped. Also, he’s very service minded and helpful. The beds costs a couple of euro more, but it’s worth it as we always had a lot of space. Also, he’s open longer than the other areas. There are several life guards along the beach, both stationary and patrols, including lifeguards on water scooter. There are multiple restaurants that serve drinks and food along the Canteras (promenade). If you want good food, I suggest O Sole Mio Casa Roja (Italian food) or El Tipico Español (Spanish, best paella)

Great beach, nice boulevard, wonderful restaurants.
Lovely, long & wide beach, right in the middle of Las Palmas and really close to the market (Mercado del Puerto - Tip: enjoy gourmet tapas at Pisco's y Buches! ). Great boulevard with nice restaurants (Tip: Casa Roja/Teraza Casa Blanca = great Italian food with an amazing view of the Atlantic Ocean!) We went there in the late afternoon, cuz we love quiet beaches. It still had the buzz, but not the masses. Such a wam, fun & relaxed atmosphere. An absolute must do!

A beautiful beach and chilled vibe!
Beautiful sandy beach with a promenade full of places to eat and drink! Lively fun and well-maintained. It has an international vibe but also you feel like you are immersed with the locals. Great range of restaurants and all tastes/price ranges are catered for. The giant hand-made sand sculptures on the beach were very impressive (free entry).

    Our favourite beach
We love this place and stay in a hotel directly on the beach, midway between the two ends. Now we are in our 70s it gives us great pleasure to stroll the wide promenade, watching sports on the beach such as volleyball and surfing. There are plenty of seats to take a rest and of course, a great choice of restaurants and cafes. The sand is kept really clean and some hotels have sunbeds for use.. We came in December ( 2nd visit) and of course visited the beautiful sand sculptures and the aquarium, as well as catching a bus from the nearby Santa Catalina square. It’s a great place with a good cosmopolitan mix of ages.

The best beach in the city. North end is the best end.
This is a long beach. The southern end of the beach isn’t the best area and it gradually runs out to an area that seems more run down , which a less attractive beach. The north end of the beach is really the hub and I would recommend that any accommodation would be best at this end of the beach. There are many bars and restaurants on the front , and the market has lots of bars and tapas , just back from the main beach in the north. Having walked around the whole area and visited the old town, I would say that the beach area is the place to be, as Las Palmas centre isn’t really somewhere to stay , but worth a day trip on the local bus or by taxi. We stayed for 6 nights , but think that we would stay 3 nights here and maybe split our trip between here and Mas Palomas in the south , as the weather is better further south.

    Just the best
We have been visiting here every year since 2012 and we have fallen in love and it really is our 2nd home. I would say this is the best city beach. Great to walk along the promenade day or night. Lovely restaurants, great base to explore the city and walking distance to the bus station.

They truly care about this beach. It's so clean. I love the fact they emply people with megaphones to shout at smokers and litter droppers. Great work and truly lovely location. I'd happily go again.

Las Canteras has an incredible beach and boardwalk. It is picturesque, calm, and well-lit, with an abundance of good restaurants, hotels, apartments, and shops. It has excellent weather for the majority of the year.
