Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This market is actually a Port market and food market. Here you can find local products. We went there as a group for lunch. It is the perfect place to try local dishes. It is not too touristy and mainly locals come here, That is why I love it more. As a group, we choose different dishes and shared them. This is the best way to try as many dishes as you can

Only worth it if you want to eat (very good) tapas etc. There are lots of such offers, very attractive and beautifully presented, but only a few market stalls, i.e. if you want to shop and experience the market atmosphere, then Mercado Central is better.

Traditional Spanish Market, lots of stalls selling very fresh produce, fish, meat, fruit, veg.
Lots of stalls with very good Tapas & drinks.
Plenty of hustle & bustle, a great place to visit both night & day.
Lovely old fashioned photographs on the walls of the old port, not to be missed, worth a look even if your are not interested in the market itself.
FREE - toilets.
You must visit once - while staying in Las Palmas !!
It's a hidden gem.

Walked to this place on a Friday Evening for a bite to eat.
Wow what a Busy place, loads of restaurants to choose from, but far to Busy for us, so we reluctantly moved on.
Highly recommended though if you can cope with a lot of peeps.

Small market with several food/café stalls. Good quality snacks, wine, coffee. Vegetable, meat(iberico sausage) good selection. Moderate pricing. Nice place to meet friends before evening activity

Very popular from 3pm onwards. For good reason: it has scrumptious cold tapas - on display, so you know what you're choosing. The same 3 bars do breakfast too, plus 2 greengrocers. A lot of stalls are not open, but that leaves more space for customers from the open ones to spread out. V. noisy.

Yes, like many Spanish cities the market is superb...they really know how to live...however we didn't realise it was open in the evening. We stumbled on in on a Friday night and it was amazing! You can eat all the best tapas fresh from the market....amazing ham, cheese, pinxtos, croquettes and all washed down with superb Albarino, Rioja, Rueda etc at 2-3 euros per generous glass. This is a truly special place on a Friday/Saturday evening....go now before Rick Stein or someone films it and ruins it.

we were really disappointed at our visit here. first, most stalls were closed. second, it is a bit of a market, a bit of a food center, but most of all a tourist driven thing. yes, there are tapas bars and yes, there are some fruit, meat of fish stalls, but far from a lively market as we know it from other places. a nice place, but not what we expected.

Go in the morning for the market but go back in the afternoon early evening for the Tapas. Some fantastic choices and great wines available.
