What a place! What a view! A place that I strongly recommend to all people visiting Gran Canaria: a good mix between history and nature. It is worth visiting the old dwellings from the very first inhabitants of Gran Canaria. In terms of landscape, the views grow beautiful and beautiful on the way up to the inner canyon and they... We decided to walk the whale way up and down the Guayadeque. The views were amazing. We were there mid January but was till nice and dry. The views were amazing. You will not see this from the but, well you see but form much shorter then during the walk. It was 18 km both ways. It took us around... More

As talked about previously on this site getting there can be a challenge. If you have a hire a car travel to Aguimes on the GC-100. Then as you are leaving town there is a sign to Guayadeque not Barranco de Guayadeque, road number GC-103 telling you to turn left, on a blind bend, into a entrance that so small,... More

Great place to see the cave houses. Excellent bar with good tapas lunches. Journey by coach a little narrow but worth it .

I was unsure about this as I'm not good with narrow mountainous roads - and I've seen a lot of reviews of dangerous roads on GC - but this drive was a breeze. The ravine is stunning. After the desert landscape of Masaplomas/Playa Del Ingles, so much greenery is astonishing. The further you go, the more beautiful. We visited the... More

We had hired a car and were staying in playa del ingles so thought we would have a run out for a change from the beach. The drive to Barranco de Guayadeque is easy using sat nav and offers excellent views. I read on reviews to visit the museum on the way which we did and it was interesting and... More

Nothing very impressive. We found only food to eat and there was no information desk. The museum closed 2 hours before. None of the souvenir shop owners spoke English to let us know what are the thins to do. Plus due to ravine, there was no internet connection, so we couldn't look up anything either.

Should have realised as soon as we saw 4 Thomson coaches this wasn't for us! Pretty enough valley, but the whole island is populated with cave houses. There are 3 distinctly indifferent eating places at the top catering for the masses - they've ensured the road is wide enough to get coaches al the way up. Hire a car and... More

Very interesting museum with lots of content. Well worth a visit- an easy drive from Masapalomas. Stop off at Aguimes on the way up to coffee and a stroll round a lovely square.
