Drove up from Costa Teguise - 30 minute drive to Orzola - free parking right by the ferry (the UK would no doubt charge a fortune to park!!), bought our tickets and got straight on one of the early departures. We were slightly concerned in that nearly everyone else was wrapped up in coats or thick jumpers whereas we were... More

I didn't know places like this still existed ! The two villages only have dirt roads. The bars and restaurants can be counted on the fingers of one hand. The harbour is ridiculously pretty. Beaches are deserted. Sea is crystal clear. Pace of life is somewhere between slow and stop. If you want to 'get away from it' then this... More

If you feel that 'that is all there is to it in Lanzarote', head north and take a boat (20 euros round trip) to the small island of La Graciosa. You can explore the island by bike (hire 10 euros per day) or on foot. There are no paved roads, but only bumpy tracks, some narrower, some wider. If you... More

You may have to get up early to drive to Orzola to catch an early ferry but it is well worth it. The ferries run every half hour with the last one back in winter a 17.00. We caught the 10.00 ferry. The crossing is 30 min and we then walked along the south coast westwards to a hill with... More

Took the boat from Orzula in the North of Lanzarote over to the Island. Small quaint harbour area, very picturesque with cafes and bars and a small beach. Did the long walk around the Island took two hours. Has little posts with numbers so that you don't get lost, went off the beaten rack once but managed to get back... More

My wife and I visited La Graciosa, using the ferry from Orzola, specifically to visit Playa Francesa, which is three beaches around a little cove about two miles from the harbour at Caleta de Sebo, where the ferry docks. It is a level walk, either along the sandy track or along the almost continuous shoreline. We had read in reviews... More
