Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Palacio salort having been to other historical houses in Ciutadella. Although the building itself is interesting with fantastic rooms with lots of artefacts, there is so little information as to what things are, you feel you've lost out on the history of the place. They could learn a lot from other sites in Ciutadella which do things much beter.

Often mistaken in people’s reviews, this is not the town hall which is on the other half of the Placa des Born or the Palacio Torresaura which is the other side of the Carrer Major des Born and makes up the picture postcard view of the East half of the market square (Placa des Born).
This building, once the residence of one of the most important families on the island and representing the typical architecture of the many palaces that where built at the time (latter half of the 18th and early 19th primarily white washed stone, high arches and Ionic columns this beautiful building is a quiet oasis particularly during the busy market days. Easily accessible from the Carrer Major it is flanked on the lower level by not too unflattering shops and galleries but the real pleasure is on experience of the interior which is well worth the time and effort.
Recommend if you want to explore more of the building interiors of the golden age of Ciutadella.

There seems to be some confusion in other reviews. Palacio Salort is NOT the same as the building with the Town Hall & Tourist Information Office in it - it is round the back of the far side of the square (entrance a little hard to find). It can be visited for a small fee & is well worth a visit to see some rooms as lived in by an aristocratic family. Very nice.

Ciutadella was the former capital of Menorca and this wonderful building is testament to that.
The super helpful Tourist Office shares part of the vast space but step inside the Town Hall entrance at the front and prepare to be amazed !
The present building was finally finished in 1925 after many years of construction. It was 'modernised' a little in 1982.
The intricate model of the city is a must see but the Council Chambers , the famous Gothic Hall is breathtaking. Closes at 2pm weekdays so time your visit carefully.
Entrance is free and staff were 'super amable' so don't miss it !

The most beautiful building in Ciutadella. Castle like structure towering over the small vessels on the water. The tourist office is inside the building.

Surrounded by beautiful buildings and monuments, the plaza is great for a drink, bite to eat, a browse in the shops or just to sit and relax. The stunning Town Hall overlooking the harbour, and the interesting monument and Obelisk in the centre of the plaza give the place a lovely historical feel. Perfect place to grab a drink, soak up the local culture and watch the world go by...

This small palace is truly a hidden gem and well worth the 4Euro entrance fee. It’s located just off the main square of Ciutadella and the small entrance doorway is located about 50 metres on the right hand side of the main roadway leading from the main square to the old town centre.
There is little downstairs apart from a small picturesque garden to the rear, but once you go up stairs and start to follow the route which is marked by red arrows you will see some beautiful room settings, paintings and old items used around the time when the palace was in use.
This is well worth the 4 Euro entrance fee, and I can thoroughly recommend it.
