Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the old bullring, now used as a venue for concerts and various performances. It is huge and takes a long time to walk around. The design is standard old time bull fighting rink. Set in the middle of town, of course.

We were in Magaluf, near capitol city Palma, at HSM Atlantic Park.
Pros: The hotel was very nice, clean, great food (compliments to the chef), very nice stuff.
Cons: The hotel was full with teens, they were very loud, rude, running through hallways, shouting till early mornings. The sleep was impossible, sadly no one from the stuff did nothing to calm them.
Magaluf by day: wonderful beach, very clean sea water, pleasant music from the beach bars and restaurants. Delicious food, nice atmosphere.
The local Pub: most of the time we spent our evenings here for the euro 2004 matches. The stuff was very nice, and helpful, nice food, cold drinks, very big TV sets, euro 2004 flags all over the place.
Magaluf by night: bars and cafés are open almost all night, till early morning, there is the main street full of hostesses who invite for drinks, you can hear various music from different sides, a lots of young people cruising the street, almost naked.
Magaluf is for fun, not for family's nor for young children.

Bullfighting has been banned in Spain for some time now. The Baleares coliseum which has a 75 year history is one of the iconic buildings in Palma. It appears to be semi abandoned. Entrance fee is free. Tour groups seem to include a visit to the coliseum as an incentive to visit the shops that sell pearls across the street.
You can enter the bullring at the ground level. There are 4 stages in each direction. A fun thing to do would be to climb to the top level and see the whole coliseum from a great vantage point. Just imagine the crowds cheering on the bullfighters and the toros in past times. It can hold almost 12000 people and is now used for more civilized activities such as concerts.

They say that this bullring is older than the Colosseum. You can walk around it on the white and blue tiles (very well done, but did not find out id this is a renovation.) Concrete seating all around.
Find a spot and image a full house and watching the bull fights. What a sight that would be. What a pity that they only do it a few times a year. It may come down to animal cruelty these days, but it would have been a sight to see.
The complex has ben restored and looks magnificent.
I heard they also have concerts here.
Must see place.

Extraordinary building of severe execution. A majestic scenario.
On the other hand, its vision has awakened on me a painful feeling, partly because of the type of show (Fiesta) for which it was built, with a load of animal suffering, and, on the other hand, because of the apparent lack of maintenance and architectural conservation.

The bullfights will be stopped by the government in October 2016.
The Arena very often was used for concerts and activities and TV Shows... Nice to see, but the infrastructure has to be renewed.

Had nice walk from Palma city center to Plaza de Toros.
Worth a visit to see the culture that was once common in Spain.
The stadium is open to tourist, you can wonder around the seating areas and bull ring.
It is without museum like displays showing the history or bullfighting in Spain and in particular at this stadium or what the role of bullfighting played in Palma city culture. I would have rated 5 stars of such displays and information were on display .
Restroom facilities available.
Some may rate this only 3 stars, but its a good stop for history or culture buffs.

Beautiful old bull ring stadium completely open to the public (no entrance fee, no one working there). You can walk right into the center of the bull ring ! Standing at the center of the ring is reminiscent of being in the pit of the Colosseum. Well worth the few minutes walk north of the city center.

It’s smaller than I thought. I don’t think you could pay me to get in there with a loose 1000 lb bull running around.
Worth the visit just to experience the closeness down on the field.
