Prepare yourself for the journey to get here first. 10€ for the 1 mile bus trip from the port to the beach is just a rip off, especially if you have to stand!
Yes it is pretty and the water and sand are beautiful, just how you would imagine a desert island.
Except it’s not deserted!
We visited in July and found it was massively overcrowded. Literally no space around you on the beaches.
Surrounded by topless and in some cases naked women. May be heaven for some I guess.
Not even space to walk along the beach with people lying on the shoreline.
Definitely not somewhere I would recommend for children.
The water is calm but passing boats do make some larger waves which can catch you by surprise.
Finally the smell. Not all the time, but the occasional waft of an aroma like rotten eggs, perhaps due to minerals in the water.
Beautiful place but avoid in high season.

This beach is not to be missed. Pristine crystal clear water and bright blue sky. We arrived at noon on a scooter and the parking lot for cars was already full. Additionally, the few sun loungers available for rent were already spoken for, so either go early if you want a sun lounger and umbrella, or bring your own umbrella if you want some shade. Entrance for scooters was € 3 euros during the days we were there. Cash or Apple Pay accepted. No public restrooms, but it was possible to use ones at the restaurant Es Ministre all the way at the end of the road where we parked. Although more crowded than other beaches on the island, it was not unpleasantly so.

I had heard so much literature about Formentera and its famous beach, that I was somewhat disappointed. In order to avoid mass tourism we went the first half of September and it was still full of foreigners, although not like Benidorm in August, but there were quite a few people even though the day was somewhat cloudy.

The Ses Illetes beach is not very big or very wide, it is somewhat neglected which has nothing to do with being virgin. Of course, the water has a beautiful and peculiar crystalline light green color, except for the algae that can be seen at the bottom, of which there are quite a few.

Surely the perception will depend a lot on where you come from. If you are from an inland place, you may like it much more than someone who is from the coast and has wonderful beaches in their area, as is my case, who is from the Costa Blanca.

Formentera surely disappointed me due to my high expectations, it seemed like a rather abandoned and neglected place. To go to the beach you totally depend on transportation. That is, you are forced to rent a motorcycle, car or take public buses or taxis, since the beaches are quite far from each other.
Everything is quite expensive, they charged me 3.50 for a small bottle of water. It didn't surprise me and even seemed normal to me since after the summer it is almost deserted.

In short, it is not a place I would return to if not with my own car, to move around as I please, and even so I don't know if it is worth it for the type of beaches it has and how crowded they are.

The beach is 10 minutes from Es Pujols, there is a stretch of dirt road to do and you pay €3 for scooters and I think €5 for cars.
I recommend scooters because there is much more parking.
However, behind the beach there is a bar and restaurant, it is possible to rent umbrellas.
The beach is sheltered and there is no seaweed. The sea is truly spectacular! Super recommended!

We visited Ses Illetes on a day trip from Es Canar. There appear to be two beaches, the first was thick with seaweed so we walked on to the second. That beach was nice with fine white sand and clear water.
However, that was as nice as it gets.
It was very crowded, it seems this is the beach that everyone heads to.
There are three restaurants on the beach, none of which you can get in without a reservation! We opted for a sandwich from the kiosk outside the middle restaurant.. we felt like we'd been mugged, €60 for two baguettes and two soft drinks cans!!
After a couple of hours on the beach we walked to the restaurant nearest the bus stop.. €15 for a beer and a coke.. mugged again!!
In summary, a nice beach but over-hyped, over crowded and definitely over priced!

It is the whitest, most transparent and beautiful beach on the island. It is very long and low even for children and families. Access is possible by paying a toll / parking every day and with the receipt you can leave and return at any time. Two sunbeds and umbrella cost 30 euros but are few and always already booked given the attraction. In June it already looks like an anthill, there are bars and restaurants but I confirm the rest of the reviews... the prices are really exorbitant. Bring a sandwich or fruit from the supermarket.

A spectacular beach. The colors of the sea, its transparency, the shallow waters, the remarkable extension of the beach make it a paradise. Even in busy periods, there is always room. Recommendation to bring drinks and food, restaurants are prohibitive. If you go with a motor vehicle you pay parking and parking spaces are limited. Recommendation not to stop at the first piece, however beautiful, but to go a little further and then get to the end. Solar with high protection, the combo white sand and peak sun is terrible for fair complexions. Go a little early in the morning in high season, you will enjoy a surreal peace. Sunbeds and umbrellas can be rented, but they are limited. Reaching it by taxi from Es Pujols for us was the best option. To see.

Beautiful beach, a must do in Formentera. Looks like caribic due to its very long fine white sand and crystal blue waters. They are just very cold. No hotels or restaurants nearby, you should take something with you. The beach is far from the harbour where the ferry arrives so you will have to take a bus (yellow or blue line) and from there still walk around 25 minutes. So it is challenging but worth it. I wish there were better bus connections to encourage people to use public transport and avoid traffic jams! It is so sad that the government does not invest on it! Here is my tip to them!!

This beach offers crystal clear water and powder white sand!Vendors often walk by selling anything from cups of fruit, to fresh coconuts, to sundresses. You can rent a lounge chair with an umbrella for about twenty euros. You can walk to a couple of nearby restaurants. It’s perfect to relax and watch the world go by, or have a swim and be active.

Came for a day trip to swim in the beautiful clear waters and sunbathe on the lovely sand.
We got the L3 tourist bus from the harbour, €8 return ticket, then walked up the the top of the road and carried on to the 3rd beach.
So worth the walk!!
