A lovely church next to San Telmo plaza that has stunning rose windows and the stonework catches the light magically throughout the day.

The inside of the church feels on a more human scale than Iglesias de Santa Maria and entrance is also free. A trombone band may be marching and playing in the street outside, but you barely here. The main altar is quite ornate. And beautifully lit by summer evening sun.

Striking Romanesque altarpieces by Ambrosio de Bengoechea and Juan de Iriarte. and a 1868 French organ by Cavaille-Coll. Period stained glass windows and, on one side of the façade, the sculpture of the “Pietà” by the artist Jorge Oteiza. It was closed most times we walked past. When we finally managed to get in we took a 20 minute walkabout... More

Preferred this place to the other church in SS. Firstly its free, and secondly it has a really peaceful atmosphere. Quiet and restful. Lots of interesting history - get a local guide for a few euros to give you the details.

The altar has several levels decorated with saints. It is an impressive piece and is as tall as the ceiling. On the outside, the structure seems very solid with heavy walls. The church is easy to find in the Parte Vieja.

Stumbled upon this church by accident. The exterior is not especially inviting and I fully expected to see the usual Baroque interior, however the main altar reredos is not baroque and is certainly a masterpiece. Go if you are at all interested.

16th c. Church, built of the local limestone. It reminds of a fortress. Interesting rosette windows and relief wooden altar and images.

Built in 1500s, this church is said to be the oldest building in town. Not very appealing from the outside, but inside the church is really great, must visit during your stroll around town.
