Your first taste of txakoli, the sight of a bar filled with tapas, the smell of fresh olive oil being pressed, the feel of thinly sliced jamon iberico between your fingers...your senses are sharper at the source. We believe travel should be unique and personal, but most of all, it should be authentic. Explore a culture through its food and drink, its producers and chefs and the love and "mimo" they put into all their creations.

Since we were founded in San Sebastian, Spain, in 2009, we strive to bring the mimo to visitors who want to immerse themselves in local food culture. Live the Mimo experience on our culinary tours, at our gourmet shops in San Sebastian (San Sebastian Food) and Sevilla (Mimo Sevilla), as well as in our luxury cooking school located in the Hotel Maria Cristina in the centre of San Sebastian. Our team of locals is passionate about sharing their culture, offering a taste of its delicious dishes, and welcoming you into the Mimo family.

You come to San Sebastian for the food-and you should NEVER leave San Sebastian without taking this tour. I cannot in recent memory think of a tour I have enjoyed more. Our guide, Lourdes, was a delight! We were so fortunate to have her lead us on the most fantastic tour ever! My wife and I are not big souvenir... More

Thanks to our guide, Lourdes, we spent 3 hours discovering the Pintxos way of life ! It could have been too difficult to find the right place by our own. Lourdes took us to 5 places but it was enough. She explained to us also the story of this kind of food, very interesting !

Thankyou to Eli for conducting a senstational tour. We thought she was very informative and knowledgeable on San Sebastian, especially the Pintxos bars we ventured into. The Pintxos and wines we enjoyed were delicious from the numerous bars we tried. Following the tour, the follow up email with further recommendations was perfect for the remainder of our trip. We would... More

Great tour. Should do at the beginning at arrival at San Sebastian because that way you know what to eat, what's fancy, etc. Too many places to go, so probably best to get advice from the tour guide (which btw our guide was very kind, good company, very friendly and such a nice person) on other places to go etc.... Honestly speaking, pretty anywhere you go you will be very satisfied with the quality of service, the very good food (you need to like fish and seafood), the quality of wine - you will be totally satisfied for dinner for two with great food and wine for less than 100€.

San Sebastian was our last stop in Spain and it didn't disappoint. I know now why they call this place the food Capitol of Europe. Utterly Fantastic food. Please take me back......

Luck meant that I ended up having a private Wine Tasting tour after booking through Tours By Locals and being escorted by Emma. The Wine Tasting was excellent with a range of local wines supported by some Pintxos and good background information. I would recommend this for everyone visiting San Sebastian.

A city with beautiful stunning views, where the beautiful sand beaches are laid at the foot of green mountains, where the young and the old live and share this beautiful city, side by side in the same way that the sandy beaches and the green mountains have lived side by side to create this overwhelming and unique scenary. San Sebastian... More

We spent an afternoon with Lourdes on what was the best food tour I've ever done. If you're thinking about this tour, don't hesitate. Since Lourdes was born and raised in San Sebastian, she is extremely knowledgable and well-connected to the community. At each restaurant/pinxtos bar, we took her recommendations for what to order and what to drink; we were... More

We joined Pintxo Tour (Dinner). 110€ seems expensive, but had a really good time. Our guide was very charming lady. She took us to six bars, and we enjoyed different dishes at each bar, appetizer, fish, meet, dessert...it's like a course menu. Above all, chatting with a guide and other participants was fun. It became the best memory in San... More
