Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Some of the most ornate bridges we have seen cross this mostly peaceful river but it can get exciting if you see the waves crashing in if you cross by the top bridge at high tide.

This is the river that flows through town and that separates 2 parts of the city. The main feature is the set of very decorative bridges that you will find in the center. The sculpture on a few of them is lovely.

River that separates the old/new town with various crossing points just watch the water ebb and flow and the waves crashing into the entrance of the river.

This is the dividing river in San Sebastian with some Nice bridges and the old town, and central parts, on one side and the younger parts on the other side. Funny to see the waves go a relatively long way inland.

I will start by saying we LOVE the Spanish custom of paseo-strolling in the evenings. We were staying south of the Parte Viejo in a more residential area in the general Maria Christina Bridge area. It was relaxing and great fun to stroll down the pathway next to the river and to veer off the path near small parks and playgrounds to watch the families interact. Interesting architecture of the older houses. The river itself isn't much to look at (especially when the tide is out).

A river divides the city and there are many bridges over it, lots of them have interesting finishes. The river itself is fairly boring, no major attractions at the side, no restaurants, or walkways, but it is fascinating to see the tidal effect on the river flow.

Paseos run along both sides of this river and the walking paths are pure delight. We arrived at the bus station (near the Maria Christina Bridge) and walked up from the subterranean depot to a lovely green expanse of parkway that border several small plazas near the Atotxa neighborhood.
Statues, fountains. inspiring landscape plantings, and beautiful neighborhoods were our reward. Our tour group walked along the beautiful and tranquil river, admiring the bridges (3) along the way. It made for a very favorable first impression of San Sebastian.

It is the river that baths Donostia, making the city even more beautiful. The river Urumea is not a very wide river and also not very deep, at least in Donostia.

It is the river which crosses the City of San Sebastian and which cuts it in two in the west-east direction. It flows into the sea above the casco viejo.
