It's basically impossible to do not get amazed by the history and the beauty of this place. I have been there 3 times already, and every time it brings me a different feeling.

This church was not originally built to be a cathedral, and so retains some of the local parish essence. It is right in the middle of the old town, and the facade is not too ornate. There is a neat "porch" off to the side, where you can visualize towns people meeting and greeting. The interior is gothic, yet not... More

Towering over the buildings surrounding it, this cathedral has beautiful entrance doors. The inside has had some cleaning making the columns and ceiling stand out. Worth a quick look.

In the middle of the old town Casco Viejo, dedicated to Spain's Patron Saint. Wonderful Baroque chapels and a Renaissance portico

Quite small for a cathedral it had a nice feel to it. Shame that the explanation panels weren't in English.

It is at the center of casco viejo, a small one but beautiful from outside and inside. The houses around are as well interesting in architected and colors.

We really enjoyed walking around the block of old buildings that the Cathedral shares, and marveling at the beautiful architecture and carvings on the facade. Unfortunately, it wasn't open for us to go in when we visited.

As the epicenter of the veneration of Santiago (Saint James), the church is an very large and beautiful space meant to hold large masses of worshippers.

Like almost every church in Spain, this is no exception. The church from the outside is a marvel of archaeology as well as the interior. There's usually standing room only in here as there are many tourists that flock here. Do not miss an opportunity to visit this work of art !!!

We walked the old town cobbled streets, and made a line for the Cathedral. Once inside time for quiet reflection. Not ornate, but very beautiful, the stained glass is magnificent.. Do sit and ponder ... I found this church one of the most peaceful I have visited.
