    Well worth seeing
Well worth seeing. I found the external of the building fascinating and brilliant in designing. If you don’t want to send the money paying to see inside I would say you have got 65% of the experience outside. They have nice cafe again which can accessed from outside without payment. Inside is quite spectacular but not a patch on outside building design. Be sure to take a walk at night time when the flame machine is operating. Good photo opportunities outside with Puppy and spider.

    Extraordinary building. And Puppy!
Beyond genius. I’d heard the hype but the place exceeds it. Exhibitions fine but the building?? My God. Unreal space and unique emotions walking in and around it. It has to be seen in person to be beloved. I know that’s been said but it really is a wonder if the world! And Puppy is pretty wild too.

    Worth the visit!
The building exterior is so magnificent we absolutely had to visit inside. I was struck by the vast space and play of daylight coming into the interior through the windows of the cathedral like space. Before touring the art galleries we had a coffee at the in-house cafe and then did the tour. The areas and artists are all well arranged and noted. Some of the installations had limited numbers and we had to wait but not for long and it was well organised. We could have spent another day to see and appreciate all that was on offer but we had limited time.

    Double Whammy
Visiting this museum was a thrilling experience for my wife and I. Visitors here receive the “double whammy,” - the exhibits themselves and the spectacular architecture both inside and outside the building. This is a must see if you are heading to Bilbao.

    Excellent morning visiting the museum.
Open at 10 am , book online your ticket. However no queue to enter or acquire the ticket. Great exhibitions, 2h00 to 2h30 visit duration . Amazing building . From Bilbau city centre 20 min walking along the river. I loved it .

    Must see
We went with our five year old, and were a bit sceptical, if she’ll be up for it, but the exhibitions were interesting enough for her too. The building itself is great and the park next door ideal to take a break. Entrances are valid the whole day, so you can go out, for lunch, and come back for another round in the afternoon.

    Worth a stop!
Really worth a stop after we got the ferry into Bilbao. We enjoyed walking around the museum before opening when it was quiet and then had a great experience visiting the many installations inside. Finished off with a welcome coffee & sandwich on the terrace.

    Superb building
This is a fantastic building which adds a new dimension to the Bilbao waterfront. Ticket purchase online was straightforward and not expensive - but you do have to enter the museum during the booked time slot. Inside, the architecture of the building also works fantastically; it offers great views out onto the river and also serves as a splendid environment for displaying art. However, I would say that some of the opportunities are slightly wasted in that some of the modern art displayed is not up to standard. But, I guess that's a personal opinion. 'The matter of time' exhibit uses beautifully weathered steel walls to create spirals and passages within a massive white gallery - it is a nice exhibit but surely doesn't need to be on this scale. Similarly, the walls could be utilised to exhibit interesting work.

A museum that shouldn’t be missed.
What could I say more about Guggenheim in Bilbao! Just don’t miss it. You will spend time looking at the building, the exhibitions, the installations and if you need time to rest and reflect on the experience , oh yes, the restaurant too. Thank you Bilbao!

This iconic museum is worth a visit, at least once. We did not reserve a timed ticket and had no problem getting in right away (around 12:30 pm). Contrary to what some reviewer have said, we had no problem finding audio guide in English.

We liked the spectacular Serra structures and some of the pop art on display. The Jungwirth exhibition was totally underwhelming, frankly. There seems to be an inverse relationship between the quality of new art and how much psychobabble is needed to explain it.

What we did not like about the museum was the difficult availability of food. The map shows where the bar and cafeteria are located but getting to them is a total mess and required extensive explanations from staff.

The Guggenheim building is quirky and definitely different. As is the nearby "Puppy" flower sculpture by Jeff Koons. However, parting with 15 euros to visit the museum... I can only say possibly worth it for the bellyache laughs we had looking at the so-called modern art. I was crying with laughter in one of the rooms I thought I might get kicked out by one of the stewards! One large canvas painted black with a sliver of white in the corner. What's that about? Cornflake boxes stuck to the walls. Bonkers! "Daddy Daddy" sculpture which was a model of Pinocchio laying face down in water (actually, a gel like substance). Hilarious! A room with lights and mirrors which was quite cool, but you had to scan a QR code and get a time to visit and were only allowed in the room for less than one minute before the door was opened and you were called out! The 25 minute long "Chaos Therory" film. Boring and bizarre! Large metal/wood (not quite sure as no signs) pieces but fun to race around like kids (we're all in our 50s)! The museum isn't crammed with artwork, lots of empty spaces, not that easy to find your way around, so definitely not worth the money. Although we hadn't laughed so much for ages so not a wasted day.

The outside architecture, Koons Puppy & spider are impressive. The three internal levels are well organized and fairly easy to navigate.

As far as a modern art museum, A+. I did realize I don't like modern art though, it's too dystopian for my taste. The Puppy outside made of flowers, as a living sculpture was really cool, they change them out twice a year.

The building is amazing - a true work of art. I spent most of my time looking at the building from all angle, inside and out. This is what makes the museum special. The art collections were ok - a few were great but for me the building is the art. We so much wanted to see this that we flew from Barcelona in the morning and returned in the evening. It was a long day but truly worth it.

This is a must-see in Bilbao; indeed, it was the main reason we traveled to this city. The architecture is stunning--perhaps the most monumental of Gehry's projects. The interior is suffused with light, and the galleries themselves, while not externally lit, nonetheless convey a lightness due to their size and the perfect lighting. The collection is rich, and I was most impressed by the gallery devoted to Richard Serra's work.

My only reservation is the lack of clear signage, which meant, among other things, that I spent at least twenty minutes trying to find the cafe (which, when I found it, had exactly what I wanted to eat!). This is a minor quibble, but it irritated. Overall, this is a wonderful experience.

The museum was interesting and the architecture amazing so worth walking round to admire that alone, even if you’re not a museum person.
Beware… I was told to leave my rucksack at the bag drop off point, I repeatedly asked for a receipt or something and they just shook their heads, no need. I went to collect it and they asked for my plastic number. And said no number no rucksack. I tried to explain , in the end they went away and immediately found my rucksack! I was not alone not being given a number. My advice If you leave your bag insist on a number and if they refuse don’t leave your bag.

Nice place. But art outside of the museum (including the building) is much more interesting than inside. And outside is free 😉
