A solid approach to a bit of the technical and social history of trains in a peripheral region and their influence in general wellbeing. A must visit in Gijon, with a careful communication design by Enric Franch, best museum designer in Spain.

This museum has a lot of promise and it could be a fantastic museum, but it seems haphazard. The trains and locomotive parts are strewn throughout an open air space with no accompanying placards or information and the information placards that exist were decent. It...More

A small entrance fee gets you into this large display of mostly Spanish trains and railway equipment. The history is interesting the staff are enthusiastic and you even get a short ride in a train carriage.

check the timetables but if you like trains you're in the right place. You're to be shown trains and trams from past to present time

Wide display of all sorts of engines. I found the displays of industrial engines most interesting and thought provoking. Very reasonable entrance fee

Based on the old FEVE station with extensions, it has a wide range of exhibits, most things are described in English. The workshops are impeccably kept.
