Described as a must do walk, well, yes it is, because the walk is physically easy, dramatically powerful and awesome. As the walk is linear you can go as far as you like and return at your choice. The books say the Cain end is...More

Let me add to the rave reviews about the Cares trail. It is breathtaking - the jagged limestone face, the river, which apparently is 200 meters deep in the deepest part of the gorge from the trail - the wildflowers, even the goats Because I'm...More

On a very hot September day we decided not to do the full return route, so we walked from Cain toward Poncebos and turned back when the thermometer hit 35 centigrade! This direction avoids the 4km uphill section beginning from the Poncebos end. Jaw dropping...More

Impressive trail with amazing views. We started in poncebos, where it was very bussy with Spanish tourists, we had the park outside the village, which give us a Long walk before entering the trail. The start from poncebos is a steep climb along deep drops....More

The walk started with what seemed like a long two and a half kilometre climb up a rough path. This led to a relatively flat walking track which extended for 12 kilometres high along steep valleys. The walk has steep rock faces both above and...More

It's an 11km walk (about 3 and a half hours) through a river canyon, with little shadow and no water nor basic services at all. I think it's worth the visit because is a beautiful natural environment, but... go prepared, because it's not a walk...More

A fantastic walk that is easily doable in one day. The beginning and end of the route was a bit steep, with loose rocks and pebbles. Definitely recommend it !

The ruta del cares is really too crowed in august, the month we did the trail. We frequently walked in groups behind each other which does reduce the experience. The trial itself goes on the top level of the Cares canyon. Only the first 2...More

A fantastic day out, we thoroughly enjoyed walking through the mountains. The views are incredible, plenty of opportunities to take stunning photographs too. As non walkers we found the trail challenging at times, however with a few stops to catch our breath we made it...More

We started route from Poncebos. You start with af climb the first 2 km. You walk in bright sun, so it is a warm thing. Lots of people. Nearly crowded, but scenary takes your breatht.

I doubt it, simply because of sharing the narrow trail with hikers. I don't know if it is allowed. Walking allows you to really take in the views.
