I was lucky enough to visit in July 2020 when Seville had very few tourists due to the C19 pandemic. Apparently the square is normally very crowded due to it's location. It's a small, but nice square and the main reasons to visit are to have a photo opportunity of the Monument to the Immaculate Conception, in its centre, and to visit the Cathedral and the Alcazar,, which border it, and to see the Torre Giralda, which is just around the corner and the back of the cathedral.

A lovely square that is bordered by the Cathedral/Giralda Tower and the Real Alcazar. It is named after the city survived relatively unscathed after an earthquake in Lisbon that was felt in Seville - this was attributed to the citizen's devotion to the Virgin Mary so there is a statue of her in the plaza . A lively area with lots of horse-drawn carriages available to hire and the streets nearby are lined with cafes and restaurants.

One of the favorite activities of tourists in Seville is to take a horse ride in calesa. Unfortunately a large part of them makes the stop is this square and this concentration is a problem for those allergic to horses.
This square can not miss your visit to the city because there is the Cathedral, the Giralda, the Alcazar or the Archive of the Indies.

The piazza on the eastern side of the Cathedral of Seville.
All day long there is a lively movement of tourists here.
From here along the boulevards that are interwoven with a variety of different restaurants with foods from all over the world according to your taste.
Nice to find a bench and sit down to rest from a busy day of endless walking

A small plaza in-between the Cathedral and the Real Alcazar with plenty of horse drawn carriages for rent. It was more of a meeting place for us as the group waited for our local tour guide to take us through the Real Alcazar. Although, when standing in the plaza, you are in view of several historical sites, and two of the top three attractions in Seville.

The Plaza del Triunfo is incredible! The plaza is in the crossroads of the Cathedral, the Royal Alcazar, and the vibrant Barrio Santa Cruz neighborhood. There is plenty of shade, benches, and is surrounded by beautiful buildings. I highly recommend!

In the middle of much of the action in the old town, the plaza is surrounded by the cathedral, Giralda tower, Alcazar and the Archive of the Indies. Horse drawn carriages pull up and depart from here too. Lovely spot, but it does get hot in summer!

The Plaza del Triunfo, or (Triumph Square), has to be one of the most visited plaza’s, not only in Seville, but all of Spain.
It can be found nestled within the centre of the historic quarter.
Consisting of several, and unique historical buildings and sites, which include; the Alcázar, the Archive of the Indies, the Cathedral of Seville and the Giralda, (minaret tower).
Horse and carriage rides are available from this location, as are the abundant restaurants.
As you can imagine, food establishments are prolific within the square and, charge accordingly, for the tourist dollar.
I would suggest, for a more preferable, traditional dining experience, you walk in-between, the close by, small nooks, crannies and surrounding laneways, for a more truly, local style meal, at a fraction of the cost.

A unique plaza as 3 UNESCO world heritage sites are located on it - the Alcazar (power of the state) - the Catedral de Sevilla (power of the Church) - the Archivos des Indias (power of commerce) !

The Plaza del Triunfo is a square that is adjacent to the Cathedral and the Alcazar. There is a small monument called the “templete” (also called Triunfo) with a Baroque style that has an image of the Virgin Mary and the Christ Child. This was constructed in 1757 to give thanks that no one died during the earthquake in Lisbon in 1757, although the Cathedral suffered some damage. This monument was created by Jose Tomas Zambrano. The monument shows the Virgin Mary and Child. The image is also called the Virgen del Triunfo and the Virgen del Patrocinio.
The square was remodeled at the start of the 20th century by Juan Talavera Heredia.
There is another monument in the square that is dedicated to the Immaculate Conception, constructed by Lorenzo Coullaut Valera in 1918. Every year it receives a floral offering on December 8, the feast of the Immaculate Conception. The monument has the sculptures of four persons on the base. The Jesuit Juan de Pineda represents Theology. Juan Martinez Montañes represents Sculpture. Miguel Cid represents Poetry. Finally Bartolome Esteban Murillo represents Painting. The top of the monument has an image that represents the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception.
