Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and I stayed in Jerez 2 days, before saying anything else, will return. Absolutely beautiful square. Lots of fantastic statues, buildings and fountains. Just a glorious place

The square takes its name from an old city gate which used to stand at the same location. Today, the square is dominated by a fountain and serves as the entry to the monumental zone of Seville. It is close to the Alcazar, the Cathedral and the Torre del Oro. It has a lot of trees which make it a nice place to visit even in the hot summer months.

Other important attractions around the square include the Hotel Alfonso which was built for the 1929 expo, and the Cristina Gardens. It is served by both the Metro and the Tram. You can also hire a horse driven carriage for a ride around the old town here. When I visited, there was an impromptu Flamenco performance going on next to the fountain.

The square is beautiful and definitely worth a short visit on your way to the historical monuments.

At the walls of the old Roman colony of "Híspalis", a gate indicated the road to "Jerez de la Frontera". And exactly at this site in today's Seville, we find "Puerta de Jerez", a pedestrian square located at the confluence of "Avenida de la Constitución", "Calle San Fernando" and "Avenida de Roma". A circular fountain, right at its center, known as "Fuente de Híspalis" or "Fuente de Sevilla", marks the "real heart" of Seville! Beating fast, lively, crowded, breathtaking! Main tourist attractions are just a step away! Unmissable! Enjoy!

Wandering around city center on a Sunday morning we happened upon this place and were able to sit outdoors and have a delightful breakfast. The wait staff were courteous and spoke English as well as French and Spanish. We had tostados with Iberian ham , coffee, and fresh squeezed orange juice for a total of $12. They have indoor seating as well and a clean restroom.

This is a central plaza and meeting place in Seville and gets its name from the door of Jerez, one of the openings in the old wall around the city. It has a pleasant fountain and the usual horse drawn carriages that attract tourists. From here you can walk to most of the major attractions.

This fountain is more of a gathering point for most of the people and the guided tours too. It serves as a landmark to base your tour of the attractions nearby.

Take the free walking tour offered at your hotel by Feel The City Tours. Excellent guides. It takes about two and a half hours.
