The Barrio Santa Cruz used to be the Jewish quarter. The streets are narrow and form a labyrinth. It’s easy to get lost among the jasmine-scented streets… only to discover a convent or a palace or a hotel. Many of the palaces have wrought iron gates suitable for peeping into their beautiful patios. There are many small stores and some artisan shops, as well as good art galleries.

It was a very nice walk from the Cathedral of Sevilla via Santa Cruz neighborhood to Plaza de España and Maria Luisa park. Lots of gift shops and nice balconies with lots of flowers hanging down, narrow streets that you could jump from one balcony to another :-), colorful and old building...However, I have seen better though but each has... I had a far memory of my last stay in Seville and the Barrio de Santa Cruz had not a prominent place. In this visit we have walked for two days through its squares and cornes and i can say this is one of the most charming historic districts in Spain and in Europe. It is true that crowds of... More

we stayed at a hotel in this neighbourhood, and we really liked it. it is pedestrian only, with narrow streets, and lots of tapas places, squares where you can eat outdoors, and also souvenir shops and churches. you can get a great tour here, with Sevilla Low Cost Tours (and hear about the legends of the barrio)

It be great to have someone to take you on a tour of this neighborhood. There are a lot of stories about the streets and several tucked away treasures!

Great neighbourhood in Sevilla! Most touristic venue (Cathedral and Giralda, Alcazar, Archivos de India) are in that area. You will also find a lot of tapas bars, shops, restaurants and a very lively part of town. The area comes to life even more when nightime falls...Don't expect to find a lot of people in restaurant and bars before 21h or... More

We loved wandering around all the little streets with their Artisan shops of Ceramics and souvenirs. The little bars and cafes on the street were excellent for Tapas and drinks and very reasonably priced.

Pedestrian zone of Seville is beautiful, with plenty to see and some great restaurants. Several roof top bars and restaurants with fabulous views of the cathedral.

I loved this part of Seville, the Cathedral, the Giralda Tower, the shops and restaurants all within walking distance. The restaurants are so alive come siesta time - while the shops are closed.

This is just amazing walking through the small narrow street, finding original places to eat. Real Spanish food and great atmosphere. Teresa's bar in Calle Teresa is a wonderful bar full of interesting pictures and memorabilia of bull fights. Their jamon is brilliant! A must for a visit.

Lovely old section of the city with quite a bit of history attached. Just wandering the streets day or night was pleasing. Plenty to do: shopping, flamenco, small museums, churches, plazas and gardens. Good eating. This is where we recommend basing yourself in Sevilla.
