Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My partner and I spent the last day of our trip to Grenada hiking here. We entered via the trail near the cemetery. You start by seeing the olive trees, then the terrain changes and you see a lot of Cypress trees as you higher. We took our time and had a picnic overlooking the abbey in the distance. We went mid-day on a Tuesday and it was really quiet. I'd recommend for nature lovers who are looking for a little city break.

If you're in Granada for more than a few days, I'd recommend this as a good morning hike (2 hours brisk -- 3 hours relaxing to stop and enjoy the views and photos). Get up to the main parking lot for buses past the main gate of the Alhambra and you're set -- but take water and a good hiking map (see Website TrekSierraNevada to download/print) because signage is minimal and no English. However, it otherwise is a hike you can do from Granada without much planning, provisions, or need of car/bus. It's really a semi-urban hike through a restored Greenbelt with some spectacular views and apart from a few other hikers, you're only likely to contact civilization through the mountain bikes that whiz by. In minutes you're forgotten the tourists, city, touts and all that wrecks Granada. Easy and romantic. Just leave morning before it gets hot.

If you continue on up to the Dehesa area along the dirt road which continues after Silla del Moro you will reach the Llano de la Perdiz where there are beautiful views of the Sierra Nevada and other mountains all around, there's a sun dial too. A nice place to see the natural environment which you can reach on foot from the centre of Granada. We enjoyed it. Take sun cream and water.
