As port go this is smart and expensive with billionaires yachts on display. There are wide walkways, beautiful parks and lots of open air restaurants. Also plenty of traffic to make crossing the road difficult. A quaint port this isn't! Worth visiting but take it easy in the sun.

The port area is very nice - at the bottom end is the Pompidou Museum ( which is accessed from from an underpass) , and the Alegria restaurant and Flamenco. There is also lots of nice market stalls to buy local fare and some very sumptuous yachts to observe. it runs right up to the Larios shopping centre and the Palace Hotel. The park runs alongside it if you prefer a more tropical and shaded walk, with parakeet's! screaming as you go! it's no more than a 20 / 30 minute stroll. back into town. it's very well planned and pleasurable.

Great walking area, full with shops
The whole area around the port is interesting designed and nice for a walk. From the public park to the terminal, there was plenty to see and explore. Nice view to the ferry boats and yachts. There were a lot of shops and restaurants, but overpriced meals. The public toilets were free!

Excellent area for strolling beside the Harbour
The walk from the old town to the harbour/Muelle Uno takes about 30 minutes. You can either walk through the pleasant gardens or along the front overlooking the harbour and the lighthouse. Lots of cafes -our favourite was Granier. Muelle Uno is a busy shopping centre but you can walk beyond it and get on to the promenade by the beach

    Nice 2-3 hours spent
We had to kill a few hours before taking the flight back home. The walk near the port was very nice, a street architecture on one side and some white covers on the other to make it pleasant even in warm days. You can find also some shops and restaurants. Ferry boats and yachts are to be seen. And if you like you can choose one of the short cruises of 1- 1 ½ hours (between 12-18 euros).

    The City Starts Right Away
This is where our cruise ship docked and we were pleased with the cleanliness and excellent organization of the facilities. The area around the port buildings is lovely with parks and quite a few restaurants. The city starts right away.

Lively atmosphere throughout the whole area, busy place and an excellent setting to walk and relax. Nice selection of catering facilities, including restaurants, cafes, bars also retail units for light shopping.

The weather was slightly cool in the morning but, beautiful by the afternoon and the whole environment isbussing and friendly.

Definitely this area is a bonus to anyone visiting or staying in Malaga town.

The port area was so nice! There were free nice public bathrooms here. The restaurants/bars here seemed to be pricey. Hard Rock Cafe is here. When you pass the boats & go east, pass the lighthouse, you will see the beach! The sand is dark & with shells but still nice. Lovely walk in the evening with good live music/buskers( Sinatra to classic rock tunes).Spent at least an hour here & then the park next to it is nice too & people still out strolling here too

This is a very nice stretch to stroll along and take in the views and sights. We walked along the Paseo de Los Curas and found lots of cafes, restaurants and shops as well as street performers - singers, dancers and acrobats.
There is a 'roof', of sorts, that does give a light bit of shade during hot and sunny days and there is a panoramic view of the harbour with its yachts and bigger ships.
It does get very busy especially when the cruise ships are visiting.

We have been coming to this city for many, many years now and there is no doubt this port has added a lot to it.

It is an added dimension which has allowed cruise ships to come to the city for better and worse and a whole host of new restaurants to open.

To be honest, most of these are two gentrified for us as we would prefer a Tapas bar in the city centre but there is no doubt these mainly chain restaurants are very popular.

There are beautiful walks around the harbour and along its edge so it is well worth coming out of the city to visit at least once.

This relatively newly constructed part of Malaga was the first we explored during our Easter break in the city. Whilst pleasant to stroll and watch the musicians and street performers, the restaurants didn't look as appealing as those we found in the maze of winding streets in the old town. Early one evening we sat in an open-air bar for a quick drink before dinner, but despite being quiet we were ignored. As we only wished to use the toilet but thought it would be rude to just walk in, we used their facilities and then left.

We arrived in the port by cruise ship on a very very hot day the ship was at the far end of the berths so it was about a 15 min walk to any shade but we were ready for that.
First you get to the beach on the right just by the prominent lighthouse, the beach is popular with the locals its fairly small but has lots of cafes and shops around, the Malaga stone letters in the sand are popular for phots, then move inland to the left to reach the main city, Malaga is huge and diverse, from ancient remains to modern sculptures and buildings its got it all.
Plenty of shops and tapas bars are everywhere together with the open plazas to wander around and take in the city vibes.
Heading back towards the port area there is a walkway surrounded by vegetation from all around the world, a veritable jungle in the city feeling with plenty of bird sound and life, eventually you reach the port area with the huge Rubik cube monument to your front and go down the slope to port level where there is a market, lots of shops, cafes and a Hard Rock Café a must for HRC fans for a drink and possibly a T shirt. From there head for the lighthouse then back on the ship.
Malaga is a great city, plenty do do and see you never get tired of it and we will be back.

People are playing music, reading, walking, sitting, buying, eating and having a good time. Marked at Saturdays. So many gulls I've never seen before. Easy to spend a day there

The port of malaga was a nice location to go out for a stroll and walk around and see the city. Great view of the gibralforo castle from the port. The walk along the sea was nice, calm and relaxing.

The port and marina of Malaga is a very popular place for tourists and local people. We were there in December but the weather was sunny and warm (22 degrees) so we sometimes walked to the sea. It’s very close to the centre and the promenade is great, too. We saw the lighthouse, the ships and enjoyed the wonderful sunset. It’s worth a visit.
