There was a big queue and lots of people were just going to the front to be let in. When we asked why they said they had pre-booked online. No one bothered to come outside and explain to people queuing who had pre booked that they could skip the line. We asked before we joined the queue and even though we had pre booked on line we were told to queue. It took us 25 mins to get to the front of the queue. The rain was very bad and when we got to the inside there was space where more people could have stood indoors away from the rain. We felt that the Spanish people were getting preferential treatment and they didn't care about the other tourists getting soaked. Very small and definitely not worth the 25 min queue to get inside. Definitely feeling the anti tourist vibe. Good luck - if tourists are not welcome we can go elsewhere. Money spends any where, if the Spanish don't want it other countries will be happy for the contribution to their economy.

We chose to go to the Picasso birthplace museum because the Picasso Museum had several galleries closed while they prepared a new exhibit. There was no tour group involved. It was a great choice and well worth the time. The museum lays out the progression of Picasso's development as an artist in a way I had not previously seen. The influence of his father's work and the variety of locations the family lived in was clear, as were his relationship with his sister and mother. The audio tour which is offered with the admission price was very good.

Small museum with many steep stairs. Enjoyed seeing Picasso's lithograph series of bulls. It would have been good if there had been an explanation of how the house was used when Picasso lived there, left guessing what uses each room had.
