Patio de los Naranjos is the original place where the Moslems carried out their ablutions before entering the mosque for prayer and is now a good place for a break under the orange trees.

This is a kind of botanical anteroom of the mosque. A symmetrical arrangement of the orange trees with places for people to sit and stroll. Very pleasing.

Delightful orange grove of peace, the devotional highlight of the mesquite complex. And what a lot of walking beauty too.

You may wait here a bit till you can enter the Mezquita, but it's a pretty place to wait. Many orange trees, but if there are oranges on them don't try to eat any...they're a variety of very sour oranges generally only used for marmalade.

One walks into the Mosque/Cathedral through this area.  We went when there were no oranges or blossoms, I am told though that to visit during  the orange blossom season  is very special, as the beautiful fragrance of the blossoms heightens the lovely  experience.

The is the historical ablution square of the former mosque, nice and shady with its fountains. We are also told that it used to be the place for the Muslim university during the 8-10th century
