About
In 1570, King Philip II, who was a great lover of horses, set out on a scheme to create a pure thoroughbred Spanish horse. He ordered the Royal Stables to be built, where he bred the Spanish horse or Andalusian horse, which was of Arab origin. The main stable room itself, with its vaulted ceiling supported by sandstone pillars is divided into smaller separate areas, known as boxes

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutely boiling mad. I timed our visit to Cordoba to visit the Royal stables on Monday morning. On this site it says they are open till 13.30. On the door of the stables it says IT'S OPEN TILL 13.30. We got there at 11.00 and it was shut. There was a man inside and I yelled enough that he opened the door. He just kept saying "closed Monday" even with me pointing at the sign.
This is a major tourist attraction in the city, maybe they could get their act together and get their signs up to date. It's really not difficult.

We went to the Friday night equestrian show at the Caballerizas Reales in Cordoba and it was a wonderful experience, a dazzling display of equestrian skill, and the riders are obviously revered in Spain, and they turned on a wonderful performance. We’re not horse people, but it was a real spectacle and treat. Highly recommended if you can get tickets, go for the better seats along the side, the riders really play to their audience there

We had the great happiness and emotion of seeing this show which is truly magnificent.
The horses are very beautiful, the show is really truly impressive in terms of grace, beauty but also equestrian mastery.
We are not specialists, we were with friends for this show and we were all impressed and really delighted because we had the pleasure of seeing
I find that the price is inexpensive for the quality of the show, favor seats in the stands because you will have a little height, but really you can see well from everywhere

A highlight of our trip to Spain! Hot, 105F degrees at 8 pm. Thunder, lightning and even light rain. The horses and riders were spectacular! The woman flamenco dancer was so beautiful as she “danced” with the horse and rider! Just amazing! Visited the horses before the show and watched them warm-up. Truly so special. Loved every moment of the show. Such fabulous horses and riders!

There wasn't an evening show on the days we were in town but we did go along one morning to watch the horses being put through their paces in the ring. It was free to enter and you just take a seat in the stands. The horses and riders were coming in one by one and going through their paces and being judged - not really sure what was happening but it was very interesting. The stable itself is beautiful with old cobbles on the floor and vaulted ceilings. Worth half an hour of your time.

Pasion Y Duende show was really interesting. Something unique and we learned a bit about dressage and horse training but the best part was the few dances between horse/rider and Flamenca. Seating is not great and suggest premium seating at the short end as you get a cushion and some back support. Plus earlier interaction with horses. No photos allowed during performance.

Worth buying the premium tickets as you can enter the ring early and watch the horses train. No photography allowed during the show so a good opportunity to take some beforehand.

It was interesting to see the architecture from the inside and the sheer scale of the place is impressive. Good value entry fee and very quick compared to some sites. But, we were rather searching for something to do as we didn't enjoy Cordoba very much. With a fixed return time for our train back to Seville, and having had enough of walking around, we eventually spent more time in the train station than anywhere on the tourist trail.

Home of the famous horses it had its origins in 1570. This was when King Philip II ordered its construction to foster the breeding of purebred Spanish horses.
It is a vast complex, as befits its role, and has been likened to some as a Cathedral for equines.

Incredibly poor, a tourist trap... they sell you dreams at the entrance, with photos and videos on screen... DON'T BE FUCKED!! The show has nothing to do with it! The horses a few laps of the track without any interest. I am very disappointed to have lost my money in this scam.

Hello, does anyone have advice on how to purchase tickets? The website didn’t work for me. I have sent them an email but no response yet.

Hi, yes you are correct they are not really into IT so as the other folks said just stop by it is close and it is the Royal Stables...my hotel kept calling it a horse who but it is dressage the finest I have seen it is magnificent. Get there an hour early so you can meet the horses and the riders.
They do not allow cameras so don't be disappointed and try and sit on the first few rows you are up close and personal I think they are the best seats in my humble opinion.
I am actually going back in Nov to see them once again. Have fun!
