We decided to explore the national park by car. We stopped off in Carboneras for a stroll and a coffee. The path by the sea was lovely and the area seemed very Spanish. Our drive then took us to Nijah where we explored the tiny cobbled street and she interesting building. From here we drove to Las Negras for a... More

This part of Almeria is quite barren, however the views are quite stunning, we were glad to have visited by car so we could stop and look whenever we wanted, but I am sure the hardened cyclist and walkers would probably disagree, but at our age we still like the car option. If you have a hire car and are... More

We spent a week in the area, based at a hotel less than 100 meters from the sea. There are hikes, tours, pleasant villages to amble through, awesome restaurants on the beaches or perched on a hilltop, windy roads to drive with jaw-dropping views (and Z-curves) as one comes around a corner, snorkeling and swimming, ruins and lighthouses... and in... Beautiful Natural Park in the heart of Almeria. Wonderful drive through (yes sorry you need a car) with the road hugging the side of the cliff and taking you to beautiful beaches.

A really interesting area, amazing rock formations, small characterfull villages, both sea side and inland, great beaches although some require quite a walk or careful driving (4x4 would be best ) over dirt roads. Definitely worth a trip, the o ly downside is travelling through acres of plastic greenhouses to reach it

We have been walking in the national park for the past few days. The scenery is breathtaking be it the rugged mountains or the spectacular sea views. The tracks can be a bit rough but the views are worth it. Have done walks around Rodalquila and San Jose, including the spectacular sea cliff walk between the two villages. It is... More
