We were on a small coach trip from mojacar which involved drinving in the cabo de gata. We went through a few villages and stopped for a drink and also drove through the mountains. What a truly magnificent view from the high winding roads. Well...More

We did our internet homework so that we could do the coast in two days. Even with quick stops in 4 places, two days simply wasn't enough. Each stop deserved a 1/2 day at a minimum. Give this place time to enjoy...there's a lot more...More

The park and the beaches around are a place where you can spend about 4 days no longer if you prefer city:) there are only 5000 inhabitants there, barely any grocery stores, single restaurant with very high prices. The desert and the flamingo park make...More

Gado-gado is a natural part with probably some of the best beaches in Spain. It is all protected and fishing is not allowed so one of the best entertainment is to scuba-dive or even snorkelling you can contemplate all

This is one of the must visits in the Almeria region. Stunning views and natural beauty and is of course the most south-easterly point in mainland Spain. Well worth the drive.

We only had a short time to see this attraction but well worth whilst seeing a variety of birds. It was a great help to go with a couple with a villa a few miles up the road and who knew the interesting spots, one...More

It requires at least half a day, to see the whole park, but it is worth the time. Rocky mountains, narrow and winding roads, exquisite views. Small villages with small restaurants, where mainly "locals" have meals. It is true, old Spain.

Stunning and beautiful countryside this area is well worth a visit but if the time when the flamingos arrive remember your binoculars!! The one road in and out to Las Negras can be daunting for height and narrowness but well worth it for the views.

We decided to explore the national park by car. We stopped off in Carboneras for a stroll and a coffee. The path by the sea was lovely and the area seemed very Spanish. Our drive then took us to Nijah where we explored the tiny...More

I am assuming the cruise ship docks in Almeria? My advice would be to hire a car and drive to the National Park. The roads are good and it is a 40 - 45 minute drive. The views are stunning. Depending on the time available... More

You can find the best hiking trail on the web, on wikilok. You can select hiking/biking/ or whatever you want to do. On the web page of the park you can also find the trail. I agree that you can start from San Jose, it is... More
