The park is really nice to walk especially beside Sternbruecke (Star bridge).

Went on a walk through the park to find this and after a while we managed to! Lovely to see a historical building in such great condition and in such a beautiful spot. Well worth a visit as the park is divine.

It is a postcard house and garden on the edge of a beautiful park. Reading other reviews I realize that I should have gone into the house. People were standing outside the house listening to a tour guide and I assumed we couldn't go in. Besides, I was on my small mobility scooter and could get around the lower part... More

This small country house is just a ten-minute walk through pleasant woodland from the centre of town. It comes into sight as soon as you cross the river. It is a modest building, consisting of just five small rooms, including Goethe’s study, bedroom and lounge. It is quite compact, but the views a re great. The garden where vegetables used... More

This very modest house (most decent farmhouses of the period were bigger; compare to Mary Arden's - Shakespeare's mother's - house in Stratford, that is 200 years older) occupies the most scenic lot in Germany. Which says that Goethe had marvelous taste, and, as the Germans say, plenty of Vitamin B (Beziehung - connections/pull), to get the Grand Duke to... More

This house is beautifully located in the Park on the Ilm, but there's not much old furniture still left in the house, so it's hard to get an impression of how it might have looked when Goethe lived there.

Although I truly loved visiting Goethe's city home at Goetheplatz, the garden house makes one feel a bit closer to the man and not just the image. Located on the edge of the outstandingly beautiful park, this was Goethe's first home in Weimar and worlds away from his city residence. Small, quaint and very simple, many of his personal belongings... More

This place is a hidden charm in Weimar. In the museum it showcases a lot of manuscripts of the great poet, many written exactly in this house.

Garden and the house were a pleasant interlude in a VERY pleasant park walk. Well worth a short stop if such things interest you. The old house is very simple but that is one of its attractions. Garden has a wide range of interesting plants.
