Personally, I would trnslate the term Krämerbrücke with ‘Chandlers‘ Bridge‘. Beautiful little shops and so close to other sights and, most importantly the Wenigemarkt which is an excellent place to dine and vine. Try Zum Wenigemarkt 13 restaurant which offers excellent local food. My favorite...More

We crossed the Merchant's Bridge several times. There were banners hung overhead across a part of it while we were there. From the river view it was colorful and there were a few bushes in bloom along the river bank which added to the charm.

Erfurt was extremely disappointing with respect to the people who we found to be overtly unwelcoming to tourists. The shops on this bridge had some slightly more friendly owners and the architecture was interesting.

This bridge is a major gathering place in Erfurt. There are a number of shops and ice cream parlors on the bridge. Walk down the steps at the end of the row of shops to a major stream that attracts a lot of attention from...More

I highly recommend to hire a local guide and to let him tell you all the story about this amazing bridge. A wonderful place and a must see in Erfurt!

This is THE place you have to see in Erfurt - otherwise you have not been here. Tip: Pass by also from outside and see the tiny houses from another view. TOP!

Enjoy and linger on this fascinating bridge. Read about the history, linger in the stores. Enjoy the museum and take pictures in and around it. We also had a wonderful ice-cream at one of the very busy shops as well as a fine meal. Charming..

One of the wonders of Erfurt. Nice and cute shops when you're walking on the bridge - you won't actually notice you're walking on one. And the magic comes when you step outside and see that it's actually a bridge made of houses. Best viewed...More

From memory, most of the shops keep fairly normal "small business" times ... closing around 17:30-18:00. Again, I think there's only one café/restaurant on the bridge, which I don't think is open in the evening. However... More
