Incredible church structure built by the brick masons to honor the Heavens and showcase their talents, now painted stark white to showcase whatever may be considered art within its walls. Neither does justice to the other.
At least it is preserved.
With some of the highest towers in town, the St. Petri offers wonderful views in all directions. For those of us who remember the division of Germany, you really understand how close this city was to the Iron Curtain when looking eastwards.

In case you are still interested, the hours are in January and February from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., in March - September from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and from October - December from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The last trip of the elevator is a half an hour before closing time.
