Incredible church structure built by the brick masons to honor the Heavens and showcase their talents, now painted stark white to showcase whatever may be considered art within its walls. Neither does justice to the other. At least it is preserved.

With some of the highest towers in town, the St. Petri offers wonderful views in all directions. For those of us who remember the division of Germany, you really understand how close this city was to the Iron Curtain when looking eastwards.

It is worth to get to St. Petri tower to see how Lubeck looks from the top. You can make some nice photos there. The tower itself is not very tall, so you would not see all river.

This is the place to go to get a great view of the old town of Lubeck. Located a bit off the center of the old town, you get awesome views.

This is not used as a church any more and is really not worth a visit. The interior is pretty but is certainly not a church.

The church was under renovation, so no tours. But the elevator to the tower was still open. The views are stunning!

The church itself, like much of Lübeck was damaged during WWII. Now the interior is simply an empty space with white walls. However, for 4 Euro per person (credit cards accepted for a minimum purchase of 10 Euro) you can walk up a flight of...More
