One of the best museum I've been to. Don't miss it. A special is the Himmelsscheibe von Nebra, alone this is worth the visit!

We took the audio guide through the exhibits and it was definitely worth it! There was actually an overwhelming amount of information available as we quickly realized... We went quite slowly through the first rooms with artifacts and exhibits from some of the earliest known settlements in Europe. Everything is really well done and extensive, with lots of additional information... More

This museum is a must if you are interest in pre-historical displays and exhibits. I loved loved loved it, especially of course the "star" of the museum, the real Nebra sky disc.

This museum is amazing! Im not normally a fan of pre-history but the exhibitions here are excellent. As well as being visually interesting they provide an easy to follow timeline for the evolution of early man. The Nebra Sky Disc (google it) is an absolute treasure, and the story behind its discovery is really interesting. The "Krieg" special exhibit was... More

Whilst in Halle, we realised by chance that the famous Nebra sky disc is displayed at this museum. It's the world's oldest known concrete depiction of astronomical phenomena, 3600 years old and simply magical. The themes in the rest of the museum are very well displayed, lots of interactive presentations.

Tour starts on highest floor level. Excellent representation of prehistorical artifacts including a special exhibition of the war theme through former times with concentration on impacts and first show downs of murder within human race. Earphones with guided tours in many languages available. After all that is a stop over at the museums own coffee shop recommended, as they have... More

I went to see this with my husband, I respond emotionally and he sees things differently. I found this museum to be little more than a glorification of brutality.. Yes the exhibitions were very well curated and the building is very fine. I hated the content... reproductions of mass graves, highlighting just which medieval or archaic weapon caused which injury.... More

The strength of this interesting museum resides in its prehistory and bronze age collections, highlighted by the sensational Himmelsscheibe aus Nebra, the so-called "Sky disc from Nebra". Gift shop sells jewellery reproductions and T-shirts of the visually stunning item.

A compact museum for those interested in the past. The number-prompts for the audio guide were difficult to locate and some numbers appeared to be missed.

The Museum is amazing!! There were some really fascinating neolithic and bronze aged artifacts. Authentic Himmelsscheibe aus Nebra, i.e. The Sky disc from Nebra. Also there is a wealth of updated information on prehistoric Europe. Another interesting one was the exhibition of Pompeii..
