The great composor Händel is one of the most famous personages from Halle. Besides being a museum the house has a great shop where you can buy anything from Händel statues, music boxes and CD:s to ties. Great for finding a present to your loved ones!

We were here during the Handel festival. There were music, children's activities and some light refreshments available in the courtyard. A good information center for your Handel Pilgrimage to Halle. Nicely restored building and a good introduction to Handel's life story.

If you love Haendel's music, this place is a must when visiting his home town Halle. Haendel's birthplace has been beautifully restored and includes an exhibition of the composer's interesting life and his captivating musical works as well as a collection of about 700 musical instruments from various centuries. As historical instruments are widely used during performances today, this collection... More

Well documented presentation on the life and career of GF Handel. For photography, the light from high windows in some rooms makes for reflections on the glass cases.

The title auto-translates poorly. This is actually the Handelhaus, the birthplace and early home of Handel, the composer. It houses a history of his life as well as many old musical instruments and curiosities. I found it quite interesting and worth the visit.

Every Christmas, Christians and the churches of western world would commemorate Georg Friedrich Händel's Messiah (completed in 1742) and do an established custom of standing when audience hear "Hallelujah" chorus is sung. It was according to document Canon of Westminster that King George III, a devoted music love, rose to his feet during the commemorative performance in Westminster in 1791,... More

Combined with an instrument museum, the Handel Museum in the house in which he was born was fascinating and well worth a wander around for a minimum of at least 2 hours. Well laid-out and document with some of the attractions laid at child-height, it was very visitor friendly. Some of the audio visual presentations such as the operas, were... More

Though this is Haendel's birthplace, you will not find here any artefacts related personally to the composer. There is a good exposition related to his family and his own carrier, but the main attraction of the museum is a surprisingly rich collection of historical music instruments, which is a must-see for any classical musician. There are about a dozen kinds... More
