Wasserburg Egeln (Saxonia-Anhalt) is more than 800 years old but suffered a lot during the past. Whereas in old ages enemies and wars were responsible for destruction, during the GDR period 1949-89, the buildings suffered even more by abuse and neglection. Only since some idealistic citizens started a maintenance campaign and tried to make parts of the castle functional again,... More
