This place is well known but our group had a very pedestrian mass meal with group service, so it's not a good read. In a beautiful mall in town center. Once it was probably darker and mustier, but it's all been tidied up to have...More

This restaurant is a tourist attraction, since Goethe drank and wrote here. Supposedly he wrote Faust here. It is the Madler Passage, down the stairs. The statues in the passage point to this story as well. The restaurant itself is one Leipzig's best but it...More

The history of the restaurant made it a "must visit" and I was not disappointed. The interior is nice & we had quite a good meal at a reasonable price.

We did not have the chance to eat there as it was too crowded, but the style of the location is really nice, in an ancient way, and the plates of people seemed delicious. May be noisy though, but for a nice atmosphere.

We had lunch at this old keller mentioned in Goethe's work and is existence since the 1500's. The interior is magnificent with plenty of atmosphere. The service is refined and civilised and the food good. There is a souvenir shop at the entrance.
