Over on the old town side of town is the Grosser Garten, a large green space, where they have a botanical garden. They had a large variety of plants and a couple of greenhouses that had tropical plants. Took lots of pictures!

A nice botanic garden for spending a few hours. There are no entrance fees. It is relatively small but interessting. Nearby is a nice farmers market. We stayed there with friends watching the plants and made a picnic with fruits we bought on the market...More

We went there in july and it was very pleasant (although rather hot) stroll, lots of diversity (cacti, tropical house and even vegetables, pine trees etc) In the tropical house there are couple small aquariums and even turtles and small birds.
