Once the private garden of the Count of Bruehl, this large open plaza offers the city's best view of the River Elbe. Under the terrace are trenches, battlements and other remnants of the city's original fortifications.

A point where you can watch The River Elbe and Dresden as well. After a busy day with the museums a nice place to relax on the benches and enjoy the nice view and capture nice photos.

Wander slowly the open terrace, grand buildings and sense the past before the wars. Wrap up warm in winter, or linger in summer to view across the river. then descend to good restaurants.

I can't imagine how lovely this view would be if it was warm and trees were blooming. In December with rain and snow coming down, it was spectacular. The views of the river and the rest of the buildings are amazing.

Overall Dresden definitely deserves a full day. It just oozes the kind of charm that travellers like me succumb too. Charming walks. Great places to eat at. This terrace flanking the river, is a great place to spend time. Very relaxing and very romantic.

A fine stroll along an elevated walkway adjacent to the Elbe. Interesting boats moored nearby; some are paddle-boats while others are permanently moored restaurants.
