Once the private garden of the Count of Bruehl, this large open plaza offers the city's best view of the River Elbe. Under the terrace are trenches, battlements and other remnants of the city's original fortifications.

The architecture and statues are beautiful along the Bruehl Terrace as you walk along the Elbe with river boats alongside. We were there on a Sunday with families, dogs, street performers and "bubble blowers" aplenty. A very enjoyable and beautiful walk.

A clever space that links various key areas together whilst offering the best perspective of the river.

This walk is best done at night as the city is aglow with lights and the sights reflect off the river. Either a long walk or a short troll will fill one with wonder over the intricate architecture along the terrace.

On the fringe of the old part of the city and overlooking the river. Very pleasant to walk in the evening and maybe stop at one of the bars.

You'll want to climb the steps up to this terrace for several reasons - there are great views of the river and the new town, as well as a long wide promenade whether you like to look at rivers or not. The main stop on...More
